Chuck versus The Santa Claus Part 2

1 ext. los
angeles, griffith OBSERVATORY - 3 days before christmas eve 11:00

Over this, Sleigh Ride, Instrumental version, is playing.

Griffith Observatory and its landscape have been properly
decorated for Christmas.

CUE MAUREEN Cowan, a young, nerdy UCLA student with thick
glasses, long blonde hair and baggy sweatshirt, sweat pants and running
shoes.  She is strolling in the park outside the observatory, casually
walking by herself when she notices a handsome young man, LOGAN, (whom Maureen
has a crush on) walking with
his girlfriend, who looks like a model.  Maureen becomes sad and looks
down at the ground, and wanders off.

Maureen looks over her shoulder and sees a scary looking man
observing her.

CUE RAY, a large, ugly looking thug stalking her from the
shadows.

Frightened, Maureen hurries off.

In the background, we can see the spy van with Casey and
Chuck watching.

2 int. los
angeles, griffith observatory - 2 days before christmas eve 20:00

We see Maureen again, looking in the Zeiss telescope at the
stars.

CUT TO Ray, who is hiding in a dark hallway observing Maureen.

Maureen is too busy looking at the stars and sky to
notice.  While doing so, she is jotting down notes in her notebook.
In the corner of her eye she sees Ray's shadow.  She looks across the room
to check it out but Ray has already disappeared.

cut to:

3 EXT. LOS
ANGELES, GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY - 2 days before christmas eve 20:01

The spy van is inconspicuously parked outside.

cut to:

4 int. spy
van - 2 days before christmas eve 20:01

CHUCK and CASEY are watching the monitors inside the spy
van.  From the screens, we can see they are spying on Ray.

cut to:

5 inT. LOS
ANGELES, beverly center - 1 day before christmas 13:35

Of course the Beverly Center is all decked out for
Christmas.
In the background the crowds can hear "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms from
the shopping center speakers.

Maureen is riding an escalator up when she looks across the
mall and sees Logan holding hands with the supermodel girlfriend.  Maureen
hangs her head quietly and lonely.

A little behind Logan we see Chuck and SARAH riding the same
escalator, holding hands, smiling and chatting.  They have plenty of
shopping bags in their hands.

cut to:

6 ext. los
angeles, griffith observatory - christmas eve 11:10

Maureen is walking along a quiet path behind the
observatory.  She is staring at the ground in her lonely state, so she
doesn't even notice the man running across the path.  Over this, Caption:
Christmas Eve, LA.

Maureen and the man collide and both fall to the ground.

Maureen feels around the ground for her glasses.  When
she puts them on, she looks up to see CUE Chuck getting up beside her.

maureen

Be careful!

chuck

Sorry!  I'm in a bit of a hurry!

Chuck looks behind him and we see Ray, armed with a
pistol.  Ray begins aiming his pistol at Chuck.

chuck

Come on!

Chuck grabs Maureen and they start running as they hear
gunshots behind them.

MAUREEN

Who are you?

CHUCK

Hi.  I'm Chuck.

Chuck leads Maureen around another corner.  He then
pushes Maureen around a corner and jumps right after her.

CUE Sarah and Casey, armed with pistols.

Chuck and Maureen don't see Sarah and Casey and the 4 bump
into each other.

Ray runs around and sees the 4 of them.

sarah

Freeze!

Sarah starts to raise her gun, but Ray has enough time to
dart behind another wall and disappear.

cut to:

7 ext. los
angeles, griffith observatory - christmas eve 11:15.

Casey runs around the corner, pistol raised.  Ray is
nowhere in sight.  Casey stops, frustrated, and turns back.

cut to:

8 ext. los
angeles, griffith observatory - christmas eve 11:16.

Sarah puts her pistol away and rushes to Chuck.

casey

Way to go moron.  By arranging that collision you helped
him get away.

SARAH

Chuck, are you all right?

CHUCK

Yeah...thanks for saving me yet again.

sarah

Is that why you married me?  To make sure I keep saving
you?

chuck

No.  I married you because I love you.

Chuck and Sarah kiss.

SARAH

Good answer.  You've earned yourself an extra special
Christmas present for that.

MAUREEN

Ahem!

CHUCK

Oohh...this is Maureen.

SARAH

Who's she?

CHUCK

We just met.  Bumped into her on the way here.

MAUREEN

Hi.  Thanks for saving my life!

Sarah shakes hands with Maureen.

sarah

The name's Bartowski.  Sarah Bartowski.

casey

OK...we need her to answer a few questions and then she can
go.

MAUREEN

So Chuck...you're a Fed?

CHUCK

Umm...well...let's just say I'm a retired agent.

MAUREEN

Then why are you dressed in the Buy More Nerd Herd uniform?

CHUCK

It's complicated.

MAUREEN

What questions do you have for me?

casey

That guy that almost killed you...have you seen him before?

MAUREEN

I think I've seen him a few times here since last
week...don't really remember.

CHUCK

Casey...she looks tired.

SARAH

What's your name again?

MAUREEN

Maureen.

SARAH

Maureen...why don't you come with us?

cut to:

9 int. buy
more - christmas eve 12:30

The Buy More, decorated for the holidays, is packed with last
minute Christmas shoppers,
including CUE ELLIE, AWESOME and MARY Bartowski, who are doing some last minute
Christmas shopping.

ellie

Devon...we still have to pick up something for Chuck and
Sarah.

awesome

Don't worry Babe...I got an idea.

mary

It's OK.  I already got them something...you can sign
your names to my gift.

ELLIE

Mom...I want to buy my little brother my own present!

MARY

You are both very busy.  Just let your mom help you out
this one time.

AWESOME

Sorry Mrs Bartowski, but I agree with my wife.  If Ellie
and I were just to pretend that we helped you buy your gift, it would be...not
awesome.

We see Chuck, Sarah, Morgan, Maureen and Casey enter the Buy
More.  They see Ellie, Awesome and Mary, and walk towards them.

CHUCK

What's up, everyone?

AWESOME

Last minute Christmas shopping.

ELLIE

Who's your guest?

CHUCK

Ooh...sis...this is Maureen.  We just met.

MAUREEN

Hi.

MARY

Where did you meet?

SARAH

On a mission.

mary

A mission?  You were on a mission?

CHUCK

Mom...we didn't have time to tell you.

mary

How typical.  Now that you're married...you have your
wife...so why bother telling your mother anything?

Sarah and Maureen look at each other.

sarah

That's my mother-in-law.

ELLIE

What's this mission about?

CHUCK

Can we talk somewhere a little more private?

The group heads over to the Buy More store manager's
office.  Morgan opens the door and they enter the room.

cut to:

10 int.
buy
more - christmas eve, 12:45

They are all in the manager's office now.  Morgan closes
the door behind everyone.

ELLIE

What's all this about, Chuck?

CHUCK

The CIA hired us to look into a potential terrorist who snuck
into LA recently.

mary

I never heard this.

SARAH

Technically this is the FBI's jurisdiction so Beckman wanted
someone to investigate that didn't report in to the government.

mary

So she hired your agency?

CASEY

We're a small enough operation that she can expense our
mission on her petty cash budget.

MARY

Chuck, Sarah, are you making enough money to cover your
business costs?

Sarah is getting annoyed at how her mother-in-law continually
tries to mess in her and Chuck's affairs.

SARAH

Yes...we are.  We take a small margin on the missions,
and the Buy More makes enough profit to scrape by.  We know how to handle
our financial affairs...mom.

ELLIE

How's Maureen a part of this?

CASEY

We've been staking out that potential terrorist...Ray...and
noticed that he's been following her.

AWESOME

So he's a pervert?

CHUCK

We don't know yet.  We're hoping Maureen can help us
figure that out.

MAUREEN

Yeah...that guy is creepy...but I only see him at the
observatory.

SARAH

So he isn't stalking you...but he sure is keeping an eye on
you at that location.

CHUCK

I wonder why.

Morgan takes a peek through his vertical blinds and sees Jeff
and Lester goofing off at the Nerd Herd desk.  Frustrated and shaking his
head in anger, Morgan starts for the door.

CHUCK

Buddy...you want me to handle this?

morgan

No Chuck...I think you're too nice for this.  You put up
with way too much crap from those goofs.

CHUCK

Morgan buddy...please remember...it's Christmas.  Let's
not ruin the Christmas cheer in the store.  Plus remember the amount of
shoppers out there now.  I don't want to demoralize them.

MORGAN

Chuck...please...just let me handle this, OK?

cut to:

11 int.
buy
more- christmas eve, 12:55

Morgan walks over to Jeff and Lester, who are still fooling
around.

MORGAN

What's the problem here?

lester

Oh come on...Grimes...we're just having a little fun here.

jeff

When did you get so serious?

MORGAN

When I noticed you two spending time fooling around instead
of pushing merchandise.

LESTER

We were just taking a short break.

MORGAN

Your shift allows two fifteen minute breaks.  That's
it.  If you're not working Nerd Herd cases...I want you pushing
merchandise.

Sad...Jeff and Lester walk off.

cut to:

12 int.
buy
more- christmas eve, 13:00

Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Mary, Awesome, Ellie and Maureen are
wrapping up their conversation while leaving the manager's office.

casey

OK...Chuck and I are going to head back to the Planetarium
and scope it out.

SARAH

I'll take Maureen back to her place.

MAUREEN

Thanks Sarah.

SARAH

No problem.

Morgan walks over to the group.

MORGAN

What did I miss?

CHUCK

Nothing much buddy.  We're on top of things in the
field...we need you to stay on top of things here.  Speaking of
which...weren't you a little harsh on Jeff and Lester?  It's
Christmas..after all...have some Christmas spirit.

MORGAN

Bah humbug!  Those two take way too many breaks.
We got to keep the Buy More operation going so that we don't have to use
mission revenue to cover our cover operation costs.  This cover should pay
its own way.

mary

Thank you Morgan...for the very sound and astute financial
advice.  And Sarah...let's make sure we get our books balanced right,
because you just told me that the Buy More paid for itself.

Sarah looks frustratedly at Mary.

MORGAN

Thank you, Mrs. Bartowski.

They all start to head their separate ways.

SARAH

Ellie, can we chat for a bit?

cut to:

13 ext.
buy
more, parking lot - christmas eve, 13:10

Sarah and Ellie step to the side outside the store, while
Maureen waits patiently.

ELLIE

What is it Sarah?

SARAH

Well...one day Chuck and I would like to start a family...

Ellie looks excited.

SARAH

And I talked to some of my former CIA colleagues who started
families...they all
recommend seeing a doctor first...

ELLIE

I see...you want me to refer you to a fertility specialist?

SARAH

Umm...no...I was hoping for something a bit more
affordable...and confidential...since I don't want to discuss any medical
condition related to my past job with the agency.

ELLIE

I see...OK...well...although it's not my specialty, I've done
this sort of thing in the past.  Drop by the hospital this afternoon if
you can and we can get started.

cut to:

14 ext.

We see a black Lotus Evora speeding down the 101 headed east
(away from LA).

cut to:

15 int.
sarah's car - christmas eve, 13:26

We see Sarah behind the wheel, smiling and talking with
Maureen, who is equally at ease.  It is clear these two women like each
other, and have a good rapport.

MAUREEN

Thanks Sarah...this is the best ride I've ever had!

SARAH

All you need is a hot guy...that always makes the ride so
much more fun!

MAUREEN

No...well...I think you have an advantage in that department.

sarah

Chuck is handsome...but we earned our money together.

MAUREEN

That's really great!  Chuck is very cute.  Good
catch!  How long you two've been married?

SARAH

Not long.  But we've been together long enough to
respect each others' abilities.  I actually earned a lot of the money on
my own at first.  Chuck's catching up now...

MAUREEN

Wow...you must work really hard.

SARAH

I think it's important for women nowadays to have their own
career.  Why depend on the man for everything?

MAUREEN

Yeah...but it would be nice to depend on a man for a few
things...

sarah

I think companionship is nice...but dependency is not.
It's the twenty first century.  Women are liberated, independent and can
do without men.

MAUREEN

You sound so lonely...but you're not.

SARAH

Far from it...well...I used to be lonely, but ever since
meeting
Chuck...I just feel...complete.  I guess that's why I married him.

MAUREEN

That's sweet.  I always wanted my own career...to afford
my own things...

sarah

That's good.  I think the world needs more women like us.

MAUREEN

But what I want most is to spend a Christmas with someone
other than just friends and family.  Someone...special...But it seems men
don't appreciate women like me..that want their own career...their financial
independence.

SARAH

Nonsense.  Chuck appreciated that I bought this car on
my own without drawing from our shared savings.

Maureen and Sarah laugh together.

MAUREEN

Your lucky...even though you're focused on your career...men
notice you.  I mean...when we walked into the Buy More...there wasn't a
single guy in there that didn't notice you.

SARAH

Hey!  Don't say that!  I want my marriage with
Chuck to work!

cut to:

16 ext.
la, griffith observatory - christmas eve, 13:30

We see Chuck and Casey searching the perimeter of the grounds
outside the observatory.

casey

Find anything?

CHUCK

No...nothing...

CASEY

We don't even know what we're looking for.

Chuck picks up his phone and makes a call.

CHUCK

Morgan buddy, would you mind coming over to Griffith
Observatory to see if you can flash on anything?

cut to:

17 int.

morgan

Buddy...I've got merchandise to push.  I can't just get
up and go...you don't get it...I have to keep an eye on Jeff and
Lester...Fine!  Alright...just fifteen minutes...but after that...I'm
coming
straight back.

cut to:

18 int.
house - christmas eve, 13:35

Sarah and Maureen are resting in Maureen's bedroom, sitting
on her bed and talking.

MAUREEN

So you used to be a spy?

SARAH

Yeah...used to...but now my husband and I run our own
independent contracting company...

MAUREEN

That's so cool!

Sarah looks around Maureen's room and sees an UCLA school
calendar on the wall.

SARAH

I take it your an UCLA student?

MAUREEN

Yeah...computer science major...President of the school
astronomy
club...What about you?  Did you go to college?  Were you a
cheerleader in college?

SARAH

Attended Harvard before joining the CIA.  I was never a
cheerleader.  I was treasurer of the Harvard electronics club
though...when I went to high school I was a member of the AV club.

MAUREEN

You're kidding!  I've never seen someone like you in an
electronics or AV club before.

SARAH

Someone like me?

MAUREEN

The type of women that men cannot help but look at.

SARAH

It's funny you mention that...you know...I didn't look all
that different from you through high school and university...the CIA Academy
trains its agents on how to appear for different missions.

MAUREEN

Really?

SARAH

Yeah...I'll show you...

cut to:

19 int.
griffith observatory, la - christmas eve 13:45

Chuck, Casey and Morgan walk inside the Griffith Observatory,
with Morgan glancing all around them.

chuck

Flash on anything yet, buddy?

MORGAN

No...nothing...I cannot see anything...

CASEY

Keep looking.

MORGAN

I'll try...but where should I look?

casey

No idea.

CHUCK

I think I know who might...

cut to:

Sarah picks up her iPhone.

SARAH

Yeah?  OK...we're coming over.

cut to:

Chuck, Casey and Morgan are chatting in the observatory when
Sarah enters.

cut to:

22 int.
griffith observatory - christmas eve 14:36

SLOW MOTION: Sarah strolls in smiling, followed by Maureen,
who has been made over to look more glamourous.

Casey grunts in approval.

sarah

Maureen, why don't you go over your routine whenever you're
here?

Maureen starts to walk over to the Zeiss Telescope.

MAUREEN

Usually I just spend some time looking at the stars through
the Zeiss telescope.

SARAH

Of course!  Why didn't I think of that before?

CHUCK

Think of what?

SARAH

The telescope!  Ray was guarding the telescope!
There's something on that telescope!

CASEY

More importantly...

Casey sneers at Chuck.

casey

Why didn't you think of that, moron?

CHUCK

Why would I think of that?

Morgan looks around.

morgan

Guys...nobody seems to be around now, so if we are going to
make our move...let's do it now.

MAUREEN

Why the telescope?

SARAH

Ray must have been looking for a place where he could hide a
transmitter that could broadcast throughout the city.  The telescope is
high enough so that he could reach most parts of LA.

Casey takes out a small device and presses a button.

casey

I'll jam all signals now so in case that thing is supposed to
set off a bomb, it won't.

MORGAN

I'll go look for a ladder.

Morgan starts to walk to a maintenance closet when we hear
footsteps.

CUE Ray, who enters the empty room armed with a pistol and
silencer.

ray

Bravo!  Well done!  You almost figured it all out.

CHUCK

Buddy...I think that ladder can wait.

RAY

You won't be needing anything in a few minutes.

CHUCK

You can't really kill us here.

ray

Oh really, why is that?

Casey grunts.

CASEY

Care to explain yourself Bartowski?

Chuck turns to Casey:

CHUCK

I'm trying to give him reasons not to shoot us so quickly!

Chuck rolls his eyes and turns back to Ray.

CHUCK

You see...even if you shoot us here you can't leave us
here...this is a public place...you have to dispose of our bodies...

MORGAN

And the cleanup too...you'd have to mop all the floors...and
you probably will only be able to move one body at a time...

Ray is distracted by Chuck and Morgan's blabbering...enough
so that Sarah has time to discreetly draw a hidden knife from her jeans and
toss it.

The knife strikes Ray's arm and he drops his weapon in pain.

Chuck runs forward and punches Ray in the nose, dropping him,
but injuring Chuck's fist in the process.

CHUCK

Oww!

Chuck shakes his hand in pain.

sarah

I don't believe this!

CHUCK

What?  That I can take out a goon without the
Intersect?  I can't believe my own wife has so little faith in me!

SARAH

No...I can't believe you hurt your hand in the process.

CHUCK

What's that supposed to mean?

MORGAN

Look...I hate to end the marriage therapy session but we have
to find out what's in that telescope.

cut to:

23 int.
griffith observatory - christmas eve, 14:45

Morgan climbs up to the top of the telescope using a ladder
while Chuck, Casey, Sarah and Maureen watch from down below.

MORGAN

Oh my gosh...I'm so afraid of heights!

CHUCK

Relax buddy...it's not that high up!

MORGAN

Easy for you...you're tall.  Everything is 2 feet higher
for me!

Casey grunts.

Morgan starts sliding over near the top of the telescope,
searching and feeling for anything attached.  He climbs on top of the
telescope and sees something: a tiny device attached.

Morgan flashes on the device.  It's a microwave signal
booster.

Morgan grabs the device and waves it.

MORGAN

Guys!  Found something!  An early Christmas present!

cut to:

24 int.
griffith observatory - christmas eve, 15:00

Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan and Maureen examine the microwave
signal booster, while Ray sits frustrated and bound in the room.

SARAH

That's stolen CIA issue.

CASEY

Can't you CIA types keep anything locked up properly?

SARAH

Excuse me?

CASEY

Sorry...forgot...we're freelancers now.

Casey turns to Ray.

casey

Looks like you were planning on transmitting a signal across
LA...sort of like a signal for a coordinated strike...

Casey grunts.

casey

Like a signal to detonate multiple explosives.

Ray just sits silently.

MAUREEN

So if he was here all the time, he was just guarding the
transmitter to the last minute.

SARAH

That's good!

Maureen and Sarah smile at each other.

Sarah's iPhone starts to ring and she takes it out.  The
Caller ID display shows Ellie holding Clara.

sarah

Sorry...got to take this.

Sarah answers the call while walking away from Ray.

MORGAN

Looks like Ray over there was not acting alone.

casey

Now we got to drive out the others helping him.

MORGAN

How do we do that?

Sarah comes back.

sarah

Sorry...but I have to leave now.  Can you handle
this?  I'll be back within an hour...got an appointment with my
sister-in-law.

CHUCK

Of course I can handle it, honey.

Sarah departs.

cut to:

25 ext.

Chuck, Casey, Morgan and Maureen take Ray out to their spy
van and drive off.

cut to:

26 ext.
griffith observatory - christmas eve, 15:21

Meanwhile, they are being observed by a CUE GOON 1 with a
pair of binoculars.  Goon 1 takes out his cell phone and starts to make a
call.

cut to:

27 int.
hospital - christmas eve, 15:45

Sarah sits in Ellie's office, with Ellie behind a desk.

ELLIE

Have you and Chuck been actively trying to conceive?

sarah

No...I wanted to see a doctor first.  You see...being a
spy...it's very hazardous and I've gotten injured a bit...

ELLIE

Well...you did the right thing.  I can certainly get you
started.

SARAH

Great!  What do I do?

ELLIE

Let's just start with the usual stuff.  I'll prescribe
you some pre-natal vitamins as well as some medication to take during ovulation.

SARAH

Ohh...that's it?

ELLIE

Well...it'll prepare your body for pregnancy and make it
easier for you to get pregnant.  But I also want to get some stats on you
too.

sarah

What do you mean by stats?

ELLIE

I got a chart for you to fill out...it's to track your basal
body temperature over the period of two to three months...

sarah

Wow...

ELLIE

You'll need to get a digital thermometer to check your
basal temperature...this will help me understand your ovulation cycle more.

SARAH

That's it?

ELLIE

No...I also want you to schedule an ultrasound at the
hospital...I want to take a look at your uterus.

sarah

OK...but why can't we do that now?

ELLIE

Take this chart.  It'll explain when in your cycle to do
the ultrasound.  It's important because I need an accurate picture to
understand your situation.  Especially considering what you said about
your career,
you are in the high risk category for workplace injuries that may impact your
chances of conceiving.

sarah

You mean I may not be able to get pregnant?

ELLie

Sarah...if starting your own family is what you want, I can
virtually guarantee it happening.  It may take time, it may take more than
just natural means...but reproductive technologies are so advanced now that
practically anything is possible.

Sarah just smiles.

ELLIE

So don't worry.  Just relax.  You did the right
thing by coming to me.  I'm here to help.  And I'll wait for you to
tell Chuck before I mention anything to him.

sarah

Thanks sis.

ELLIE

Of course.  We're family now.  Ohh...and one other
thing...

Ellie reaches into her desk and pulls out a folder filled
with papers and passes them to Sarah, who opens the folder and looks embarassed.

ELLIE

Relax.  Devon and I did some research too before we
decided to try and have Clara.  Those pictures indicate the best positions
to conceive.

Sarah looks at Ellie wide eyed.

ELLIE

Don't worry.  You and Chuck will enjoy it.  We sure
did!

Ellie takes out a box of ovulation tests.

ELLIE

Just start using these test sticks twelve days after your
cycle starts.  When you see two stripes on the end is when it's the best
time for you and Chuck to...you know.

cut to:

28 int.
spy van - christmas eve, 16:10

Casey and Morgan are up front, with Casey driving.
Chuck sits at the back watching Ray while monitoring the spy equipment.
Maureen sits nervously by Chuck.

CHUCK

Casey...according to our radar, we got two cars tailing us.

CASEY

Looks like your plan worked like a charm, Bartowski.

MAUREEN

So Ray's backup phoned in that he was caught and now they're
tailing us?  That's good??

CASEY

We needed a way to smoke out his accomplices...bring them out
into the open.

cut to:

29 ext.
buy more - christmas eve, 16:15

The spy van pulls over into the Buy More parking lot and the
2 cars move in around it.  Several goons get out of the cars and surround
the spy van, weapons concealed in their coats.

Chuck, Casey, Morgan and Ray step carefully out of the
van...Ray still handcuffed.  Maureen hides inside.

CASEY

I'd be careful if I were you.  We got a hostage.

CUE Goon 1, who steps forward.

goon 1

We want our guy back.  Let him go, and everybody gets to
live.

casey

You got to be kidding!

CHUCK

Look around you...

The goons just stare at Chuck.

CHUCK

I'm serious...look around you.  Don't you see?
It's Christmas!  Look at this place!  There's people everywhere doing
last minute shopping!

The goons pause for a beat.  Chuck's got a good point.

Meanwhile a goon takes out a cell phone, makes a call and
presses some buttons.

CHUCK

You're not going anywhere.  We called the cops already
and they are on their way here.  You try and take Ray, we make a lot of
noise.  You shoot us, you have several hundred witnesses out here to
implicate you in court.  So throw down your guns and give up.

Several unmarked police cars show and several cops get out.

CHUCK

Looks like we're holding all the cards.  So don't worry
about trying to get this back.

Chuck holds up the microwave signal booster.

ray

You talk too much.

CHUCK

Since I am definitely have the advantage here, I think I can
go on for a little bit.

RAY

No.

Ray starts to smile.

RAY

My associate just armed two nuclear explosives hidden across
different areas of LA.

CHUCK

Nice try!  We disabled your microwave booster.

Ray rolls his eyes.

ray

We had a backup system...we hooked the nuclear explosives to
cell phones and dialed the activation code in.

CASEY

So you're gonna die with us.

Ray rolls his eyes again.

ray

No.  The bombs will detonate within twenty minutes
unless you let us fly out by Burbank airport.

CASEY

No deals!  If you're giving yourself time to escape you
won't blow yourself up.

ray

Are you willing to risk it?

Chuck, Casey and Morgan look at each other.  Ray's got a
point.

Chuck turns to the cops present and shrugs his shoulders.

CHUCK

Let them walk.  Clear their flight out of Burbank
Airport.

Chuck then turns to Ray.

CHUCK

Now give us the phone number so we can deactivate those bombs.

ray

Does this look like my first time?  We give you the
number once our plane takes off.

Ray and goons get in their cars and drive off unopposed.

CHUCK

Oh no...I'm no longer the Intersect...the last time I

Crowds rush out of the stores and flood the parking lots,
trapping all the cars inside.  Outside the parking lot is a Santa Claus
sleigh and reindeer display on a motorized
parade float.  The sleigh has no Santa sitting in it as that is the
driver's position and contains controls to drive the float.  In front of
the sleigh are 8 harnassed animatronic reindeers, being led by Rudolph the Red
Nosed Reindeer.

We see a driver dressed as Santa abandoning the float.

Oh my God!  We're doomed!

MORGAN

I've got to call Alex.

CASEY

Me first.

While Morgan and Casey fight for the phone...

CHUCK

We can do this.

MAUREEN

Do what?

CHUCK

Save LA in less than twenty minutes.  We can do this.

MAUREEN

Forget it.  We only got sixteen minutes or so.  I'm
going to call my mom...would like to call Logan too.

CHUCK

Is he your boyfriend?

MAUREEN

Umm...no...

CASEY

Some guy you have a crush on?  Someone out of your
league?  Does this sound like a familiar feeling Bartowski?

CHUCK

Yes and no.  We're married now!

Casey grunts.

CHUCK

We can do this.  We can stop those bombs.  And I'll
get that guy to notice Maureen.

MORGAN

How?  We have no way of knowing where they are...it
would take hours to search the city.

CHUCK

Casey, get the home address of Maureen's crush.  Have
the police pick him up and bring him to Burbank Airport.  Morgan, go with
Casey, get Sarah and meet me at Burbank Airport.  Don't let Ray and his
goons take off.

CASEY

Where are you headed?

CHUCK

To the Buy More!

Casey, Morgan and Maureen start running out of the parking
lot to get out of the traffic mess.  Chuck runs over to the Buy More.

the Nerd Herd desk and sees Jeff sitting behind a PC.  Chuck commandeers
that workstation, and his eyes open wide with shock and disgust when he sees
what Jeff was doing on the PC.

CHUCK

Jeff...What were you thinking?  A customer could see
this!

Jeff just looks blankly at Chuck, a little ashamed.

CHUCK

Morgan was right.  I should have kept a closer eye on
you.  No more browsing of these kind of websites!

Big Mike, Lester and
Jeff rush over to see what Chuck is doing.

LESTER

Charles...you hear the news?  We're all going to die!

CHUCK

I just need a few minutes of this store's internet access to
hack the PBX switch.

Chuck begins frantically typing on the keyboard.

big mike

Chuck, what are you doing?

CHUCK

I'm making a computer virus...very short, very simple...it'll
stop every cell phone clock that it can connect to...Google Android, Symbian,
Blackberry, iPhone and of course Windows Mobile...and it will destroy itself
after a
few hours.

BIG MIKE

What are you going to do with that?

chuck

I need your help.  I need you to upload this virus to
every website, BBS board, PBX box, smart phone out there...

jeff

You want us to do all that?

CHUCK

Guys...this is your big chance.  After this...you guys
will be famous.  Employers will be knocking on your door.  But first
you have to do this.  First you have to help me save LA.  You have to
help me save Christmas.  Can you do
this?

LESTER

Why should we help them?

Lester points to the customers who are now panicking and
rushing out of the store.

lester

Charles...in case you haven't noticed, those people treat us
with no respect!  They don't deserve our help!

CHUCK

Guys...it's Christmas!  Look...I know how you
feel...we're treated like we're dirt...they show us know respect...yet when the
technology their daily lives depends on so much has issues, they expect us to
fix it immediately.

Big Mike, Lester and Jeff nod in agreement.

CHUCK

But this is Christmas.  This is when everyone does a
good deed for someone else.  Do we really want to be remembered as the
four nerds who ruined Christmas for millions of LA residents?

Big Mike, Lester and Jeff look at each other.  Big Mike
and Jeff begin to turn their heads in a "no", but Lester crosses his arms and
remains adamant, until Big Mike gives him a soft elbow to the arm.

LESTER

OK fine Charles.  You win.  I'm in.  We're all
in.

CHUCK

Great.  Each take a workstation and start FTP'ing.
And Jeff...delete your internet history...I don't want you browsing those sites
in the store anymore.

CHUCK

You may want to check your cell phone for the time.

What?

Just check.

CHUCK

So all over LA, we are freezing time without impacting
time-sensitive systems.

Ray and the goons look concerned.

ray

OK...so you stopped my bombs.  You still don't know
where they are and exactly how many I really hid.

CHUCK

Now this is the best part.  This is the coolest
part.  Do you know what's in every cell phone?

CASEY

Hurry up, moron!

Chuck looks annoyed at Casey.

CHUCK

Give me a chance to enjoy my moment, Casey!

Chuck turns back to face Ray and the goons.

CHUCK

A transmitter.  A radio transmitter.  So I
programmed my virus to send a continuous signal from any phone connected to a
device with a clock.  And I don't think that many cell phones would be
connected to computers or clocks right now, with all the last minute shopping
happening.

Chuck pauses for a beat.

CHUCK

Right now the US military and FBI are on high alert, combing
the city for your hidden explosives.  And given the nature of this
emergency, they probably are monitoring all the different radio
frequencies.  So I think they will zero in on your bombs within,
ohh...five minutes.

Chuck grins proudly.

CHUCK

And the final score is...no Intersect...

morgan

Ahem!

CHUCK

I meant I'm no longer the Intersect, alright?!

Chuck continues proudly.

CHUCK

No CIA...only twenty minutes...diffused two nuclear
explosives, trapped an infamous terrorist for hire, hooked Maureen up with her
dream guy...

Chuck motions to Maureen and Logan, who are really into each
other.

CHUCK

And best of all...I saved Christmas!  With a minute and
a half to spare!

Chuck throws his arms up in the V sign for victory.

CHUCK

Who da man?!?!

Everyone just stares at Chuck expressionless.  It's just
too much for everyone to absorb.

Chuck turns to Sarah:

CHUCK

Honey...remind me to never do that again!

The police move in and apprehend Ray and his goons.

Sarah steps forward and holds Chuck's hand.

SARAH

Chuck...you saved Christmas!

CHUCK

Merry Christmas everyone!

have listened to you.

MORGAN

It's ok.  Jeff and Lester have been our friends for a
while.  We sometimes cut them too much slack, that's all.  But you're
right...it's Christmas...I should have been a little softer on them...and fixed

Diego?

SARAH

I was like that through Harvard too.

CHUCK

You were so beautiful then.

SARAH

No I wasn't.

CHUCK

Yes you were.

SARAH

You're the only guy that says that.

CHUCK

I'm the only guy who notices how amazing you are.

Sarah smiles.  They kiss again.

CHUCK

Who you are inside is more important to me.

Sarah smiles at Chuck.

SARAH

Chuck...I was thinking...

CHUCK

About what?

SARAH

You know...I want to have your children someday.

CHUCK

And I want you to be the mother of my family.

SARAH

I talked to Ellie today.

CHUCK

And?

SARAH

She's not sure...she wants me to do some tests...but she said
that statistically, women in high-risk professions like me often sustain
injuries that affect fertility.

CHUCK

Don't worry.  We'll just have to figure something out.

Chuck kisses Sarah.

sarah

I got something for you.  Was going to wait till
tomorrow but I think tonight will be fine.

CHUCK

I got you something too.  It's very nice...cost a bit
but we can afford it now...

Sarah pulls out her childhood piggy bank from her handbag and
hands it to Chuck.

CHUCK

Your piggy bank!

SARAH

I want you to have it.  It's the only childhood
possession I still have...and I wanted to give you something to match this.

Sarah holds up her wrist showing the charm bracelet Chuck
gave her in vs the Santa Claus.

CHUCK

Thank you.  I love you.

Chuck and Sarah kiss.

SARAH

Merry Christmas Chuck.

Sarah smiles.

CHUCK

Merry Christmas Sarah.

Chuck thinks for a beat.

CHUCK

Sarah just smiles.
