CUE SARAH is inside the living room, sitting on the couch,
relaxed and admiring her diamond engagement ring. She is lost in thought
when CHUCK enters. He notices this and smiles, then comes closer to
her
and kisses her on her cheek.
CHUCK
I love you.
SARAH
I love you more.
CHUCK
I love you more and more.
They smile at each other and lean in to kiss on the lips, but
are suddenly interrupted when Chuck’s TV suddenly switches on. First the
seal of the Department of National Intelligence (DNI) is displayed, which after
3 seconds, is replaced by CUE General Beckman, who is seated behind her desk
and
staring straight at them.
BECKMAN
Good morning, Agent Bartowski, Agent Walker. I hope I
am not disturbing you.
CHUCK
Well…we were about to…isn’t this our day off?
BECKMAN
I know you took this week of, but this mission is
urgent. Did you see the news this morning?
Beckman presses a button on her desk and her image on Chuck
and Sarah's flat screen changes to a news report on a recent
assassination attempt on the Pope
CHUCK
Isn't the Pope hosting some multinational conference on
poverty in Rome next week?
BECKMAN
Correct Bartowski. The conference will be attended by
many world leaders, including our President.
SARAH
But even if another assassination is attempted there's not
much we can do to help. The Secret Service will be there and Vatican City
has the Swiss Guard.
BECKMAN
Actually that's where you come in, Agent Walker. Your
spectacular reputation for protecting this nation's most valuable intelligence
asset has caught the President's attention.
CHUCK
Actually I'm not an asset anymore, remember?
BECKMAN
The point being...the President has decided to appoint Agent
Walker as head of security for this conference.
Sarah lights up. She is pleasantly surprised.
SARAH
The President wants me for this assignment?
BECKMAN
That's correct Agent Walker. This assignment would be a
huge boost for your career.
CHUCK
What about our wedding planning this week? We were
supposed to check out the Getty Villa to try to set a date.
BECKMAN
You can take your vacation once the conference is over.
It's your operation now Agent Walker.
The screen flashes the NSA logo, then goes blank.

Chuck and Sarah have just stepped
out when they bump into ELLIE and AWESOME. CUE Awesome.
AWESOME
Hey bro! You and Sarah ready to check out the Getty
Villa today?
ELLIE
We have to pick a venue for your wedding reception otherwise
we'll never be able to set a date.
SARAH
Sorry but I just got assigned to a new operation.
CHUCK
Sarah's been sent to Rome by the President.
ELLIE
Chuck you have to pick the venue then.
SARAH
Sorry Ellie but I'm taking Chuck with me.
Chuck breaks into a big grin.
CHUCK
I was afraid you'd leave me behind.
Sarah beams back at Chuck a radiant smile.
SARAH
I'll never leave you Chuck.
AWESOME
Look guys. If you want this wedding to happen we got to
get moving on picking a venue otherwise you'll never get the date you want.
Ellie frowns at Awesome then turns to Sarah.
ELLIE
I understand this new assignment must mean a lot to you
Sarah. Why don't Devon and I scout some places out for you?
Sarah just smiles with delight.

It's now mid morning and Sarah and Chuck are buried in
paperwork preparing for the Rome assignment when CUE CASEY walks in. Over
this, CAPTION: CASTLE, MONDAY 11:45 AM.
CASEY
What are you two doing here?
CHUCK
Going over everything we have on the recent assassination
attempt against the Pope. The President's put Sarah in charge of
security. And Sarah's invited me to be part of her team. It's a
highly visible assignment and we think Al Qaeda may be involved.
CASEY
Don't you think you need someone with extensive special ops
and anti-terrorist ops experience for this assignment?
Sarah looks up at Casey and smiles.
SARAH
Of course you're part of my team Casey.
Casey grunts
happily.

CUE MORGAN is
patrolling the store when Casey walks by.
MORGAN
Casey, you mind helping me move these XBOX Kinects?
CASEY
Yes I do mind. Chuck, Sarah and I got an assignment in
Rome. I gotta go home and pack.
MORGAN
Wait! A mission? Why didn't you guys tell me
about the briefing?
CASEY
It's invitation only. Ask Supervising Special Agent
Walker if you're invited.
Casey grunts scarcastically.

Morgan is running down the stairs excitedly towards a table
where Chuck and Sarah are seated.
MORGAN
So what's this new assignment about?
CHUCK
Sarah's going to be in charge of security at an international
conference in Rome next week...
Sarah looks at Chuck disapprovingly.
MORGAN
By herself? Or is there a team involved?
Chuck looks at Sarah curiously...
MORGAN
After all I am a part of this team...
SARAH
Chuck's team. But this assignment's different. I
need people with special skill sets.

CHUCK
Buddy, when we get to Rome I promise to talk to Sarah to make
you part of her team. Right now I got to grab lunch for Sarah and I.

Chuck, Sarah and Casey are reviewing files on the
assassination attempt against the Pope. Sarah puts down her paperwork to
make a call on the airphone. Over this, CAPTION: PRIVATE JET, TUESDAY

SARAH
Hey it's Sarah. Did you get Carina reassigned to Rome
yet?
Casey grunts uncomfortably.
SARAH
What about Mei Ling? Good. What? Have them
report to Vatican City Wednesday at 1100 hours. My orders are to set up
base there.
CASEY
Why Mei-Ling?
SARAH
Her file says she once caught an Al Qaeda operative
purchasing weapons from a North Korean criminal. Her knowledge of
terrorist m.o. Should come in handy.
Chuck is reading a file on the recent assassination attempt on the Pope.
CHUCK
Hmm...traces of ammonia...magnesium...
Chuck flashes on cyclosarin.
CHUCK
They used cyclosarin in the assassination attempt on the
Pope. The same stuff Sarah and...
CASEY
And Sarah's ex Shaw were poisoned with. So there's a
Ring connection here.
SARAH
Thanks for reminding me about the guy who tried to kill me
and killed Chuck's dad. After all that, as far as I'm concerned, he's

his ex status.
CHUCK
How can someone lose his ex status? I mean...were you

SARAH

Wow...Rome is such a cool place to be. Trevi
fountain...the Colloseum...after Beckman made me a full agent I was supposed to
come here. I remember trying to convince you to join me...
SARAH

These guys are the Swiss Guard. They're Swiss soldiers
who volunteered to protect the Vatican.

They are taken to a meeting room and introduced to the CARMELINGO and CUE POPE.

Welcome to the Vatican, Supervising Special Agent Walker...we
feel very secure with your presence here.
SARAH
Thank you sir. My core team...Colonel John Casey and
Agent Chuck Bartowski.
CARMELINGO
I see you're engaged.
SARAH
To Chuck actually.
Chuck smiles proudly.
CARMELINGO
This room will serve as security command and control.
I've asked the Swiss Guard to setup your requested equipment for you. We've
arranged for that office over there to be Agent Walker's. We've also
arranged for rooms for each of you in our North wing.
CHUCK
Ahh...what do you mean by rooms for each of us?
CARMELINGO
Each of you will have your own separate room in Vatican City.
CHUCK
Ahh...well...Sarah and I prefer our own room.
CARMELINGO
As in you two wish to share one room?
CHUCK
Yeah.
CARMELINGO
It's not normal procedure for unmarried couples to share a
room within Vatican City...
SARAH
Thank you for your hospitality but Chuck and I will be making
our own living arrangements.
Casey groans.
CARMELINGO
Where exactly will you be staying?
CHUCK
Good question. Where are we staying?
POPE
I recommend the Palazzo Cardinal Cesi Hotel. It's very
close to St. Peter's Square. I hope you will stay with us Colonel Casey.
CASEY
I intend to enjoy your hospitality.
POPE
Excellent. We would be honoured if you all would join
us for dinner tonight at 6.
SARAH
We'll see you at 6.
CHUCK
This is gonna be great!

CUT to Hotel Cesi. Chuck and Sarah enter the main lobby holding
hands. Over this, CAPTION: HOTEL CESI, TUESDAY 3:00 PM. They are
greeted by the CUE CONCIERGE.

Good afternoon. How may I help you?
SARAH
We need a room for 2 for 8 nights.
CONCIERGE
We have the Presidential suite available. And it has a
great view of St. Peter's Basilica too.

Great! We'll take it.

Chuck, don't worry. We can expense it.

Chuck and Sarah are examining the room for bugs while
admiring the luxury and the view.
CHUCK
I can't believe this! Jacuzzi, separate master bedroom,
balcony with a view of St. Peter's Basilica...this is the best assignment I've
ever had! I mean...check out this living space...the couches are so
comfortable...and there's an office for us to do some work at night too.
SARAH
It's our best
assignment, Chuck.
Sarah picks up a phone and dials the Vatican:
SARAH
Hi, this is Supervising Special Agent Walker. Can you
have the Swiss Guard
bring our luggage to Hotel Cesi?
Sarah hangs up the phone and smiles at Chuck.
SARAH
We still have 3 hours before dinner...so...let's try out the
jacuzzi while we wait.
Sarah leads Chuck by the hand to the master ensuite while
Chuck grins cheerfully and silly.

Chuck, Sarah, Casey, the Carmelingo, and the Pope are having
dinner in an elegant dining room.
POPE
I hope you are enjoying our hospitality.
CHUCK
We certainly are.
SARAH
Thank you for making us feel so welcome. If you don't
mind, I would like to ask you some questions in preparation for tomorrow.
CARMELINGO
Anything we can do to assist.
SARAH
We believe the weapon used in the assassination attempt
against the Pope was cyclosarin, and that the assassins may have access to more
neurotoxins which we believe to be their weapons of choice.
POPE
Why would they want to use poisonous gas?
SARAH
We think they don't want to use weapons that may cause
collateral damage.
We would like to search the site of the first assassination attempt tomorrow.
CHUCK
The Pantheon? This is getting better every
minute! The Pantheon was built in 126AD, originally as a temple to Roman
gods, but was converted to a Catholic Church.
CASEY
It's also circular and enclosed, perfect for releasing gas
weapons.

CUE CARINA, MEI-LING, OLIVIA MUNN, OLD SPICE GUY, STACEY
KIEBLER, and SUMMER GLAU are all
standing and facing Sarah. Sarah is giving them a mission briefing, with
Chuck and Casey to the side. Over this, CAPTION: VATICAN CITY, WEDNESDAY
11:00 AM. CUE Sarah.
SARAH
Our first priority is to revisit the assassination attempt
scene and see if we can find anything the local authorities miss. The
police have done their search and have the whole Pantheon sealed off, but I
want all of you to revisit given your experience in terrorist mo's. I'm
hoping
you may find something overlooked.
The team heads out the door with Casey following. Sarah
holds Chuck back by the arm and whispers into his ear.
SARAH
Chuck, I want you to walk around and see if you can flash on
anything, OK?

Several cars leave the Vatican and head down towards the
Pantheon.
ext. the
pantheon, wednesday 12:30 pm
CUT to the Pantheon. Over this, CAPTION: PANTHEON,
WEDNESDAY 12:30 PM. The cars all stop outside and the
team gets out, along with
some Swiss Guard troops dressed in matching black suits, sunglasses and ear
pieces. They walk towards the Pantheon while some pass the yellow tape to
enter while others walk around. Chuck enters the Pantheon and heads to
the spot where the cyclosarin device was, and begins examining it.
Chuck flashes on the device and the bomb makers who are
capable of building such a weapon.
Chuck then speaks into his watch radio:
CHUCK
Sarah...this device was made using an extremely complicated
release mechanism. There are only 6 known terrorist bomb makers in the
world that can do this.
Chuck then walks outside around the Pantheon and accidentally
bumps into a familiar woman he does not immediately recognize.
Chuck flashes on Italian language skills:
CHUCK
Scusi!

Lou? What are you doing here?

Hey! Wow! This is like the best surprise!
What are you doing in Rome?
Chuck suddenly flashes on a person walking behing Lou.
He is NIKOLAJ LIE KAAS, one of the assassins capable of constructing such a
complex gas bomb.
CHUCK
Lou, I'm really sorry but I really have to run now.

Chuck, where are you going? Chuck! Come back!
Chuck starts walking quickly through the crowds, leaving Lou
behind. He quickly speaks into his watch-radio:
CHUCK
Sarah. This is Chuck. I spotted a possible
suspect in the assassination attempt. He's Nikolaj Lie Kaas and he made
the exact same gas bomb for a terrorist attack in Thailand some 10 odd years
ago. I'm following him on foot. Send some backup.
SARAH
Chuck...please be careful. I love you.
CHUCK
Love you too.
CUT back to Sarah, who is quickly jogging through the crowds
when she runs smack into Lou.

Sarah?
SARAH
Lou? Oh...hey...hi...
lou
Are you here with Chuck?
SARAH
Where did he go?
lou
That way.
Lou points in Chuck's direction. Sarah starts running
after Chuck and talks into her bluetooth headset:
SARAH
Team. We are in pursuit of a possible suspect on
foot. Trace Chuck's signal. Chuck's headed west on Via delia
Palombella towards Piazza Navona.

Chuck continues following Nikolaj into the Piazza
Navona. Over this CAPTION: PIAZZA NAVONA, WEDNESDAY 12:50. Nikolaj
walks into a group of tourists around the Fountain of the
four Rivers and Chuck attempts to get closer, but loses Nikolaj in the crowd as
the crowd starts boarding the bus. Chuck sees Nikolaj board the bus and
Chuck follows him. Chuck gets on board the bus and sits behind Nikolaj
and the bus begins to move. Chuck watches Nikolaj carefully; Nikolaj
appears very nervous.

tourbus, wednesday 1:00 pm
The bus begins moving and the spedometer increases slowly
from 10 mph to 20 mph.
CUT to a bomb wired underneath the bus that has a LED display
that reflects the bus' speed.
The bus spedometer increases to 30 mph.
CUT to the bomb whose display starts flashing between 30 mph
and active.
A pager that Nikolaj is wearing starts beeping.
Nikolaj watches the bus driver carefully and notices the bus
driver about to press the break and clutch pedals.
Suddenly Nikolaj gets up, walks behind the bus driver and
pulls out a pistol and shoots the driver. Nikolaj throws the driver onto
the floor and continues speeding up the bus. The other bus passengers,
all horrified, begin to scream and panic. Chuck is too stunned to stop
anything. Instead, Chuck starts speaking into his watch-radio:
CHUCK
Sarah?
nikolaj
Quiet! Quieto!
Nikolaj uses one arm to wave his pistol threateningly behind
him. The bus passengers and Chuck instantly shut up.
All of a sudden, Chuck's iPhone starts buzzing. Chuck
carefully hides himself and answers the phone.
CHUCK
Sarah we got a real problem here.
shaw
Chuck, don't hang up if you want everyone on that bus,
including yourself, to live.
CHUCK
Shaw? How the hell did you get out of prison?
shaw
That's not important Chuck. What's important is that
the bus you are riding on cannot travel less than 30 miles per hour otherwise
it will explode. Nikolaj driving up front wired an explosive to the
bottom of the bus. You will cooperate by keeping quiet.
Shaw hangs up.
Chuck begins to cautiously approach the bus driver's seat
while Nikolaj is driving.
CHUCK
Nikolaj, I don't know what Shaw has told you, but he's a very
bad person and I only want to help you.
NIKOLAJ
Shut up!
Nikolaj points his pistol at Chuck's stomach, causing Chuck
to flash on Kung Fu.
Chuck quickly kicks the gun out of Nikolaj's hand and it
falls to the floor.
Suddenly gas starts to be released from the bus air vents
causing people to cough. Nikolaj however coughs violently, convulses and
falls off the driver's seat, dying on the floor. The bus begins to swerve
uncontrolled forcing Chuck to jump into the driver's seat and continue driving
at 30 mph.
Chuck's phone starts to ring again. Chuck answers it.
CHUCK
Who is this?
shaw
Who do you want it to be? The CIA slut that murdered my
wife?
CHUCK
Shaw, stop this sick game right now.
shaw
No way Chuck. I want to have some fun. Don't
worry about the gas. The gas was only half of a toxin. The other
half was in Nikolaj so when he breathed it, he started dying. Too bad,
because he's the only person that can diffuse the bomb and allow you to stop
the bus.
CHUCK
Why did you kill Nikolaj then? Wouldn't it be easier to
let him take the bus to where you want it to go?
shaw
I never wanted him to take the bus anywhere. I just
told him that so I could get him onto the bus to dispose of him. I just
wanted to have some fun with you.
Shaw hangs up, and Chuck starts yelling into his wrist-radio:
CHUCK
Sarah! I need help!
CUE HANNAH, who was a passenger and has now got up and walked
behind Chuck.
hannah
Chuck?
CHUCK
Hannah, what are you doing here?
HANNAH
I got an IT security gig in Rome and was on vacation
today. I wanted to join this bus tour to see Rome. What are you
doing here?
CHUCK
Hannah I don't have time to explain. Just take the
wheel and keep your foot on the gas pedal so the bus doesn't drive below 30
miles per hour. You got that? It's important. We cannot be
driving slower than 30 miles per hour.
hannah
OK.
Carefully, with Chuck's foot still on the gas, Hannah and
Chuck switch spots, allowing Chuck to talk into his wrist radio.
CHUCK
Sarah where are you?
SARAH
Chuck, Carina was supposed to meet up with you. Is she
there?
CHUCK
No. Where are you?
SARAH
I'm on my way back to the Vatican the coordinate your tailing
of Nikolaj. Why?
CHUCK
Sarah, I'm stuck on a bus speeding through Rome and cannot
stop the bus. I can't slow down below 30 miles per hour either.
SARAH
What are you talking about?
CHUCK
It's Shaw! He got someone to wire this bus with some
type of bomb that will go off if the bus slows below 30 miles per hour.
SARAH
That's sick.
CHUCK
Sarah I don't know how, but Shaw can see everyone on the
bus. We have to do what he says until I can figure out how to disarm that
bomb.
sarah
Chuck don't be stupid! Who's going to drive the bus?
CHUCK
Hannah will.
SARAH
What? What's Hannah doing there?
CHUCK
No idea. I swear. She just appeared out of
nowhere!
SARAH
Like Lou??
Chuck starts searching the floor of the bus...
Chuck notices a carefully hidden wire protruding from under
the rubber mat and begins to pull away the rubber to reveal metal. He
turns
to the passengers...
CHUCK
I need some help here. Does anybody have a screwdriver
or knife?
CUE SARAH'S DAD, cleverly disguised as a tourist, gives Chuck
a
pocket knife.
sarah's dad
Can I help, Charlie?
CHUCK
What? Mr. Burton? What are you doing here?
sarah's dad
Long story Charlie. Let's just say I'm in the timeshare
business.
Chuck's phone starts to ring. Chuck stands up to answer
it.
CHUCK
Oh hey Sarah. Yeah...I think we found the bomb.
By the way...your dad's on the bus too. What?
CUT to Sarah in her Vatican Office on her iPhone:
SARAH
What the hell is he doing there? Chuck, is he up to
another con? Forget it...just give him the phone.
CUT to Chuck and Sarah's Dad, back on the bus:
CHUCK
She wants to speak to you.
sarah's dad
Oh no. This can't be good.
Chuck passes his iPhone to Sarah's Dad. He begins
chatting on the phone. Hannah then turns to quickly face Chuck.
hannah
Chuck, we're running out of gas. We need to stop.
CHUCK
Hannah, whatever you do, don't stop! Just keep driving
at 30 miles per hour...no slower.
hannah
Chuck, the police are chasing us!

local road, wednesday 1:15 pm
CUT to outside the bus, where 4 police cars, with sirens
flashing, surround the bus but keep moving.

tourbus, wednesday 1:20 pm
hannah
Chuck, we better stop.
CHUCK
No!
sarah's dad
It's ok. It's Sarah. She sent those cop cars to
escort us so we can keep moving.
CHUCK
Hannah don't worry. Just keep driving.
Suddenly a passenger, looking very unsettled by all the
action, stands up and draws a revolver and points it at Hannah. He is
MARIO, and he is scared.

Stop the bus!
CHUCK
No! Hannah keep driving.
mario
Stop it or I'll shoot!
CHUCK
Sir...I know you must be very sorry for whatever it is you
did, but I assure you, the police are not here for that. Nobody knows
anything about you and if you just give me the gun, I'm sure we will all just
forget this ever happened.
mario
No! Stop the bus!
Mario points the revolver at Sarah's Dad's left leg, causing
Chuck to flash on Kung Fu and close quarters combat skills, but it's too
late. Mario pulls the trigger and wounds Sarah's Dad...The passengers
begin screaming as Chuck kicks the revolver out of Mario's hands and easily
overpowers Mario. Chuck then pulls out some handcuffs from his pants and
cuffs Mario to a seat, then Chuck shows his CIA badge to the passengers.
CHUCK
Everyone relax. I'm a federal agent.
Chuck bends down to help Sarah's Dad.
CHUCK
Mr. Burton, are you alright?
SARAH'S DAD
I've been better, Charlie!
Chuck flashes on some medic skills and begins to bandage
Sarah's Dad's gunshot wound using his clothing, but looks very nervous and
squeemish.
Chuck picks up his dropped iPhone.
CHUCK
Sarah...you're dad's been shot.
sarah's dad
Yeah...and this is the second time I've been shot related to
her work.
CHUCK
Sarah I flashed when I saw your dad's wound. It looks
pretty bad and the Intersect calculates we got to get him to a hospital pretty
soon.
SARAH
Chuck...I'll think of something.
CHUCK
Sarah, we got to get your dad to a hospital soon. He
might lose his leg!
Chuck thinks for a moment. He then starts dialing
another number...

CUE ELLIE and Awesome are playing with
their newborn Clara. The phone begins ringing and is answered by CUE MARY
BARTOWSKI. Over this, CAPTION: BURBANK, WEDNESDAY 1:25 PM.

Hello? Yes. OK...I'll get Eleanor...
Mary motions to Ellie frantically.
MARY
Ellie...it's Chuck. You better hurry...it sounds urgent.
ELLIE
OK
Ellie rushes over and grabs the phone from Mary.
ELLIE
Hello? What? Oh my God! OK...Chuck...stay
calm. Have Sarah's dad apply pressure above the wound. See if
anyone on the bus has any alcohol to apply to the wound.
MARY
What's going on?
ELLIE
Chuck is trapped on a bus with Sarah's Dad...who's been shot.
MARY
Can we help?
ELLIE
He's in Rome!
AWESOME
Then we have to go to Rome.
ELLIE
Devon...I thought you wanted to stay away from the spy world?
AWESOME
Babe...it's Chuck, your little brother, my brother-in-law
we're talking about. If we didn't try to help...that would be...not
awesome.
Mary takes the phone from Ellie.
MARY
Get me General Beckman. This is Mary Bartowski.
Hi. How are you? We need to be on the next flight to Rome.
Ellie, Devon, pack your things and Clara's too. We're leaving in 15

Hi Mrs. Bartowski. Alex and I are taking a vacation to
Rome together.

Really? We're going there too.
ELLIE
Morgan, is this about Chuck and Sarah's assignment?

Fine. Come with us. There should be enough space
in the limo for all of us to get to LAX. From there we can board the

OK. The bleeding's stopped and the alcohol should have
stopped any infection in there.
SARAH'S DAD
Charlie you should have told me it would hurt!
CHUCK
Hang on Mr. Burton. Let me make a call.
Chuck checks his iPhone for the list of last known
calls. He sees a few from Unknown when the iPhone starts ringing...caller
ID unknown. Chuck answers the phone.
CHUCK
Shaw?

Very good Chuck. I see you're paying attention.
CHUCK
Shaw, we have a wounded passenger on board. He's
bleeding. We need to get him to a hospital.
shaw
Why should I care?
CHUCK
He's not part of the game Shaw. His wound was purely an
accident.

Yes...I can see that...
CHUCK
Come on Shaw. You don't want to kill him, do you?
You want to kill me, right?
shaw
Yes...that's right, Chuck. Actually, I want to kill you
while Sarah watches...then when I know Sarah has suffered the way I have when I
lost Eve, then I want to kill Sarah.
CHUCK
OK...that's really twisted by the way, but the point is, let
me at least get this man off the
bus. Let us stop the bus to let him off.

Sorry Chuck...can't do that. No stopping the bus...I
can't control that. But I can let the man off the bus.
CHUCK
Fine.
Chuck hangs up the phone. He then proceeds to call
Sarah.
CHUCK
Sarah. I talked to Shaw. He'll let us offload
your dad. He doesn't know it's your dad. But we'll need a way to
get your dad off the bus without
slowing the bus down.
SARAH
It's OK. Casey thought of something. He and
Carina should be there shortly.
CHUCK
Right. Please hurry. And we need gas too.
SARAH
Fine. I'll have Carina and Casey fix something up.

CUT to the highway: the bus is now driving along a major
highway surrounded by 4 police cars. Overhead a police helicopter follows
the bus, along with a Sky Italia news helicopter.

Breaking news from Rome. We just received word of
several shootings aboard a tour bus which is now driving through Rome on the
Via Cristoforo Colombo with police escort. We have no word on what is
going on in the bus. All this is happening just after the recent
assassination attempt against the Pope, and on the day the President of the
United States is scheduled to arrive for a Vaticon sponsored summit on
international poverty.

CUT to a dark basement, where Daniel Shaw is watching the
news on TV. He smiles. He notices on the TV a large flatbed truck
coming into view with several people standing on it wearing body armour.
One of the police cars on the side speeds up as the truck begins to pull
alongside the bus.

CUT to the bus...Hannah is watching the flat bed truck while
driving. Over this CAPTION: VIA CRISTOFORO COLOMBO, ROME, WEDNESDAY 3:30
PM. Chuck looks at the truck and recognizes Casey and Carina
standing on it. In addition, there is a large gas tank and hose on the
truck. Chuck quickly picks up his iPhone and calls Casey, who can be seen
pulling his iPhone out.
CHUCK
Casey, do you have gas?
casey
Yes.
CHUCK
OK. Fill us up first. Then you have to get to the
other side so we can pass Sarah's dad over to you.
CASEY
Got it.
CHUCK
Hannah...keep driving straight and steady. Try not to
speed up or slow down.
ext. VIA
CRISTOFORO COLOMBO, wednesday 3:45 pm
CUT to the road again. The flat bed truck pulls closer.
CASEY
Carina...get ready with the gas!

Relax John...I know what you're thinking.
The flat bed truck pulls very close to the bus...almost
colliding with it. With about only 6 inches apart, Carina steps to the
edge, opens the fuel flap and opens the gas cap. She then puts a hose and
nozzle into the bus' refueling area and starts pumping gas in.
CHUCK
Hannah...they're refueling us now. Keep driving
steady. Is it working?
HANNAH
Yeah...I'm seeing the needle go up. We're almost half
full now.
Chuck does a thumbs up to Casey. Chuck then calls Sarah:
CHUCK
Sarah this is working. We're half full now. A few
minutes more and we got to get your dad across.
SARAH
OK...get ready. Casey will pass you a stretcher.
hannah
OK Chuck. We're full now.
Chuck does a thumbs up with geeky smile to Carina, who looks
strangely at
him. Chuck nods at her and Carina understands immediately. She
stops refueling the bus and puts the gas cap back in. The truck slowly
pulls away from the bus, falls behind the bus, and then pulls up alongside the
bus on the other side, and the other police car quickly speeds ahead.
Chuck goes to the front of the bus and opens the bus
door. The flat bed truck gets closer to the bus. Casey pushes a
stretcher which Chuck grabs and starts to pull onto the bus. Another
passenger, MATT, runs forward and helps drag the stretcher onto the bus.
CHUCK
Thanks.

CHUCK
Chuck. Can you help me get this wounded man onto the
stretcher?
matt
No prob Chuck.
Chuck and Matt load the stretcher with Sarah's dad, who
twists with pain.
They then move the stretcher closer to the bus door. Casey, standing on
the flatbed truck, motions Chuck to start moving the stretcher across, but the
flat bed truck is considerably higher than the bus door.
CHUCK
Matt! I'm going to have to stand on the platform and
help push the stretcher up so the cops can grab it. You push from where
you are standing.

tourbus and flatbed truck on VIA CRISTOFORO COLOMBO, wednesday 4:00 pm
Chuck steps down onto the platform. Matt pushes the
stretcher forward, while Chuck crouches and pushes the stretcher up over his
head. Casey grabs the other end of the stretcher and the 3 carefully
transfer Sarah's dad onto the flatbed truck. Chuck is holding onto the
end of the stretcher and is leaning over the road towards the truck when he
lets go of the stretcher, allowing Carina to grab his hands.
CHUCK
Carina! Let go!
CARINA
No way Chuck! Walker's orders: I'm to extract you as
well!
CHUCK
Carina you can't! Shaw is watching all this! If
you pull me off he may detonate the bomb remotely now and kill everyone on
board!
Carina hesitates, then pushes Chuck back onto the bus.

vatican, sarah's office - wednesday 4:00 pm
CUT to Sarah who is monitoring the situation from her Vatican
office. She is on her iPhone now:
SARAH
Carina what the hell were you thinking? My orders were
to get as many people off that bus as well.

Watch your potty mouth Walker. We think Shaw is
watching. We only took your dad off
because Shaw agreed to that only.

tourbus, wednesday 4:15 pm
CUT back to the bus, where the door is closed and Chuck is
celebrating with Hannah on the successful transfer of Sarah's dad. Chuck
looks ahead and notices a sign for the highway Grande Accordo Annulare.
Chuck notices that the sign indicates which exit onto the highway to take in
order to reach Ciampino Airport.
CHUCK
Hannah, take the exit to Ciampino airport. We have to
go there.
Chuck then returns to the floor and opens a panel. He
looks down and sees the explosive wired to the bottom of the bus. Chuck
flashes on the explosive. Chuck then stands up and calls Sarah on his
iPhone.
CHUCK
Sarah, the bomb is wired to the bus accelerator system, and
has a GPS and computer attached. That's how Shaw knows where we
are. The USB port for the bomb is underneath and if I can reach it on the
bottom of the bus, I think I can disarm it.
INT.
VATICAN CITY, SARAH'S OFFICE - WEDNESDAY 4:15 pm
CUT to Sarah on her iPhone, looking very nervous and concerned.
SARAH
Chuck that's crazy! You could get killed!
What? You need a tow truck and a mechanic's bed?

tourbus, wednesday 4:20 pm
Chuck's iPhone begins ringing. Chuck looks at the
Caller Display and it's Casey.
CASEY
Chuck, we have a real problem here. See that overpass
up ahead? It was shut down for repairs because a part of it fell
off. We have to turn back.
Chuck looks around outside and notices there is not enough
highway for the tourbus to make a turn.
CHUCK
Casey there's no way we can turn around. At 30 miles
per hour, we need a much wider highway than this ring highway allows.
hannah
Chuck, we have a real problem here.
The flatbed truck carrying Casey and Carina stops behind the
tourbus. The bus passengers look ahead to see that part of the overpass
is missing. The passengers start to panic. Chuck also, but Chuck
manages to compose himself for a bit and while looking at the damaged overpass,
flashes on physics calculations.
CHUCK
Hannah, speed up!

What? Are you insane?
CHUCK
It's roughly a 35 degree incline upwards just before the
overpass breaks off. The distance of the gap is roughly 7 meters.
We can jump it.
hannah
We have to stop the bus!
CHUCK
We can't stop the bus. The bomb is wired into the
spedometer and engine...plus it has GPS. The minute this bus drops below
30 miles per hour it'll go off.
hannah
OK Chuck. I trust you. Even though the last time
I trusted you enough to sleep with you, you dumped me right after.
CHUCK
Hannah, that's not fair!
Chuck picks up his iPhone and calls Sarah.
CHUCK
Sarah...we're going to jump the overpass gap. I'll call
you when it's over.

VATICAN CITY, SARAH'S OFFICE - WEDNESDAY 4:30 PM
CUE Sarah, who is frantic and holding back tears.
SARAH
Chuck I love you. If we can, let's not hold off our
wedding any longer.

tourbus - wednesday 4:35 pm
CUE Chuck and Hannah, who start screaming nervously with eyes
wide open, and the rest of the passengers join in. We see the
spedometer,
which shows the bus speed at 70 mph.

overpass, Grande Accordo Annulare - wednesday 4:37 pm
CUE tourbus, which hits the overpass like a ramp, and clears
the gap and lands on the other side. The bus goes down a bit more and
Chuck sees another sign indicating the exit for Ciampino Airport.

CUE Chuck, who is calling Sarah on his iPhone.
CHUCK
Sarah! We made it! Get that tow truck at Ciampino
Airport ready. Hannah, get off here.

VATICAN CITY, SARAH'S OFFICE - WEDNESDAY 4:40 pm
CUE Sarah, visibly relieved that her fiance is still alive.
SARAH
That's right Casey. I want that tow truck ready at
Ciampino Airport ASAP. I'll fly there by chopper. Why is Chuck
taking the hostages to the airport?

flatbed truck - wednesday 4:41 pm
CUE Casey, who is all smiles, and grunts happily.
CASEY
Relax. You picked a good one, Walker. Chuck took
them to the airport on purpose. He's going to drive circles around the
runways!
ext.
Ciampino airport, runway - wednesday 4:45 pm
The tourbus crashes through the fence gate and onto the
runway at Ciampino Airport. Police sirens are heard in the distance, and
soon police cars are driving across the runways securing a large runway ring
for the tourbus to make circles in. Over this, CAPTION: CIAMPINO AIRPORT,
WEDNESDAY 4:45 PM.

tourbus - wednesday 4:50 pm
CUE Chuck and Hannah, who are looking around the ring portion
of the runway. Up ahead, they see a tow truck with a mechanic's flatbed
attached to the towing mechanism. The truck starts driving onto the
runway and gets alongside the bus near the door. Chuck gets out his
iPhone and starts waving it in front of him while turning around in circles, to
the confusion of the passengers and Hannah. The iPhone begins to ring,
caller identity unknown. Chuck answers the phone.

You wanted to speak to me?
CHUCK
Shaw, if you wanted me dead, you could have detonated the
bomb back at the Piazza Navona.
shaw
Smart Chuck. Right now I need you alive a little
longer...I got to catch Sarah first and make her watch you die painfully,
remember?
CHUCK
Don't you want to see if I can disarm your bomb or not?

SHAW'S SECRET BASE - WEDNESDAY 4:50 pm
CUE Shaw, who is grinning evily while on the phone. A
voice from someone hidden in the shadows whispers something.

Don't let him do that. Just blow up the damn bus!
What are you waiting for?
Shaw motions for Manoosh to shut up. We still cannot
see Manoosh's face as of yet.

TOURBUS - WEDNESDAY 4:51 pm
CUE Chuck, on the iPhone with Shaw.

OK Chuck. Let's see how smart you are.
EXT.
CIAMPINO AIRPORT, RUNWAY - WEDNESDAY 5:00 PM
We see the tourbus loop around a bend on the runway and then
drive straight. A tow truck then drives onto the runway in front of the
tourbus, carrying a mechanic's flat bed. Standing by the tow rope is CIA
agent Stacey Kiebler, dressed in full body armour. The tow truck pulls
alongside the tourbus, and we see the tourbus door open with Chuck standing on
the ledge.

tourbus - wednesday 5:02 pm
CUE Hannah, still driving the bus and holding it steady and
in-line with the tow truck. CUE Chuck, whose head is turned to face
Hannah.
CHUCK
Good Hannah. Just keep driving at 30. Keep the
bus straight until I'm on the tow truck.
hannah
Chuck...be careful. And thanks for being here with us.
chuck
Hannah, I'm sorry for what I did to you.
With that we see from Hannah's viewpoint:
Chuck jumps from the tourbus onto the tow truck and the truck
pulls off the runway.

What's he doing?

I don't know...
Hannah turns the bus around another loop in the runway, where
we see the tow truck drive back onto the runway with Chuck and Stacey.
Stacey is holding the tow rope and Chuck is now wearing a full explosive
disposal armoured suit. The tow truck pulls right in front of the
bus.
Chuck gives Stacey the thumbs up and from Hannah's viewpoint, we see the
mechanic's bed get slowly lowered onto the runway behind the tow truck and in
front of the tourbus.
At this point Hannah realizes what Chuck is about to do.

Oh my God. He is insane.
EXT.
CIAMPINO AIRPORT, RUNWAY - WEDNESDAY 5:10 pm
The tow rope starts to extend and the mechanic's bed slowly
rolls underneath the bus. CUE Chuck, who is making nervous sounds as the
bed slides underneath. Once underneath the moving bus he begins clamping
supports to connect the mechanic's bed to the bottom of the
bus, directly below the bomb. At this point the bomb's LED display is
clearly visible, tracking the tourbus' speed.
CHUCK
OK Sarah, I'm underneath the bus now.
Chuck focuses on the bomb and flashes.
CHUCK
Sarah...I'm going to try to override the bomb's software now.
Chuck attaches his iPhone via USB cable to the bomb's USB
port, and begins attempting to hack it...
INT.
TOURBUS - WEDNESDAY 5:20 PM
Hannah is focusing on her driving when she notices a speed
bump ahead.
ext.
tourbus, bottom - wednesday 5:25 pm
The tourbus goes over the speed bump roughly, as does Chuck
and the mechanic's bed. Chuck drops his iPhone in the process, and some
of the supports Chuck attached to the bottom of the bus break off.
Suddenly the mechanic's bed slides to the rear of the bus,
prompting Chuck to grab onto something, screaming throughout the ordeal.
INT.
TOURBUS - WEDNESDAY 5:30 pm
The passengers hear Chuck banging on the floor, pull off the
matt and pull open the floor panel. They grab Chuck and pull him back
onto the bus, much to the cheers and applause of everyone. Chuck waves to
Stacey to indicate he is safe and the tow truck pulls off the runway.
Chuck then rushes to the front of the bus to talk to Hannah, but notices
something that appears to be a webcam on top of the rear view mirror.

I'm glad you're alright Chuck. You're crazy, you know
that?
Chuck picks up his iPhone and calls Casey.
CHUCK
Casey, can you check all wifi signals around the airport?
CASEY
Sure Chuck.

van - wednesday 5:35 pm
Casey is busy scanning all the wifi signals around Ciampino
airport, when he stumbles across the signal Shaw is using to broadcast video
from the bus.
CASEY
Chuck, tell everyone on the bus to just look straight ahead
and not move a muscle.

TOURBUS - WEDNESDAY 5:40 pm
Chuck turns to the tourbus passengers.
CHUCK
OK...I need everyone to just look ahead and not move for a
few minutes.
Everyone does as Chuck says.
INT. SPY
VAN - WEDNESDAY 5:45 pm
Casey records the signal from the tourbus. He then
replays the video on the same signal and loops it.
CASEY
Chuck...I'm replaying the last 5 minutes of bus footage on
Shaw's wifi...continuously.
INT.
TOURBUS - WEDNESDAY 5:50 pm
Chuck is on his iPhone.
CHUCK
Thanks Casey. Send over the airport terminal bus.
Let's get these tourists home.
Chuck hangs up his iPhone.
CHUCK
It's almost over! We've found a safe way to get you all
off.
An airport bus used to taxi passengers to the runways drives
up and pulls alongside the tourbus. The passenger doors open and Old
Spice Guy and Olivia Munn stand ready to pull the hostages over.
CHUCK
I need everyone to line up single file now. The agents
on the other bus will help pull you over.
One by one, the passengers are safely pulled from one moving
bus to another, until only Chuck and Hannah remain.
HANNAH
Chuck, how do we get off?
Chuck attaches an apparatus with a cable to the steering
wheel and turns the bus towards a ditch.
HANNAH
Why are you changing directions?
CHUCK
I got to make sure when the bus blows up, nothing gets
damaged. An explosion could cost millions of dollars! Hannah, hit
the gas and go as fast as you can.
Chuck takes Hannah's hands off the wheel as he secures
it. Chuck then drags the cable to the center of the bus. Chuck
notices it is an emergency floor panel. He releases one latch so part of
the panel falls to the road, dragging along and generating sparks from the
friction. Chuck motions to Hannah.
CHUCK
Hang on to me.
Chuck lies on the panel first and Hannah lies on top of him,
arms wrapped tightly around this chest. Chuck releases the final latch of
the panel.
EXT.
CIAMPINO AIRPORT, RUNWAY - WEDNESDAY 6:00 pm
Chuck and Hannah hit the runway and begin sliding under and
behind the bus on the panel. Chuck carefully guides their direction using
the cable attached to the steering wheel of the tourbus so they don't run
underneath any of the tourbus' wheels. After Chuck and Hannah are behind
the bus, Chuck releases the cable and they slide into a ditch.
The tourbus then crashes into a ditch on the opposite side of
the runway, far away from Chuck and Hannah.
HARD CUT to LED display of the explosive, which shows the
speed below 30 mph.
The tourbus explodes.
CUE Chuck who is still lying on the panel with Hannah on top.
CHUCK
Yes! I saved the City of Rome millions of dollars in
property damages.
hannah
You also saved my life too.
CHUCK
I mean I saved the City of Rome millions of Euros in property
damages. And an euro is worth more than the US dollar.
Chuck and Hannah stand up. Hannah extends her hand.
hannah
Chuck, I forgive you for sleeping with me and breaking up
with me. Can we be friends?
Chuck shakes her hand and grins widely.
CHUCK
Friends. Which means I have to introduce you to Sarah,
my fiance.
Hannah looks behind Chuck and smiles.

I think we won't have to wait long for that.
CUE Sarah, who is running towards Chuck from the distance.
CUE Chuck, who, upon seeing Sarah, starts running towards her.
Chuck and Sarah meet and kiss. Hannah walks towards them.
SARAH
Thank God you're all right.
CHUCK
We better be careful with that word. We are working at
the Vatican now.
Sarah just smiles. Chuck turns around to introduce
Hannah to Sarah.
CHUCK
Sarah, this is Hannah, who used to work at the Buy More last
year. Hannah, this is Sarah, my fiance.

Sarah...when did you meet Chuck? I never saw you when I
worked at the Buy More.
SARAH
Ohh...I met Chuck a few years before that. Chuck and I
well...we were kind of in a break that time...
hannah
Well...you're very lucky to be with a hero.
SARAH
Thanks Hannah.

Chuck was so brave. He let me lie on top of him the
whole time we were escaping the bus.
Sarah takes Chuck by the arm and drags him away.
SARAH
She was on top the whole time???
CHUCK
Sarah! I was trying to rescue a hostage! Nothing
happened! We have no time for drama!
SARAH
Fine. You're right. No time for drama. At
least not now.
Chuck's face turns pale with fear.

VATICAN CITY, SARAH'S OFFICE - WEDNESDAY 7:30 pm
Sarah, Chuck and Casey have regrouped in Sarah's office and
are recounting the day's events. Over this, CAPTION VATICAN CITY,
WEDNESDAY 7:30 PM.
CHUCK
I think there's a connection we're missing. Why would
Nikolaj go twice to the Pantheon, especially when he planted the first gas
weapon there?
SARAH
I don't know. He was taking an awfully big risk for a
reason.
CASEY
Who knows? Maybe Shaw has a secret base nearby.
There must be a reason that Nikolaj went from the Pantheon to the Piazza Navona.
SARAH
The Piazza Navona tourbus thing sounds like one of Shaw's
sick games to me. Shaw did something like this to me in Paris...he took
me to see my red test spot again before trying to kill me.
CHUCK
Having me on the bus makes sense. But the location
doesn't.

Morgan looks very uncomfortable. He decides to change
the subject of the conversation.
MORGAN
So Chuck, I heard there was a big hostage taking drama on a
tourbus today.
CHUCK
Yeah buddy. I was on it.
MORGAN
I saw it on the news this afternoon.

CASEY
You and Morgan are sharing a room??
Morgan looking very nervous now.

Yeah...and we saw Hannah on TV too.

You mean like hidden corridors...networks of underground

to this book, apparently the Illuminati marked certain historic sites with
special symbols...they created a path for new recruits to follow.

Hmm...you think the Illuminati recruited Shaw to sabotage the

Chuck looks sheepishly down on the floor.

Shaw. I mean...she really considered him for a long term

Awesome and Ellie are examining some blood samples taken from
the tourbus passengers.
AWESOME
If these people inhaled the same poison gas as the assassin
that was killed on the bus, shouldn't we give them the antidote just in case
they inhale the other half?
ELLIE
This half gas is comprised of unstable trio of benzene rings
that fall apart after being in the bloodstream for a while. So the
passengers are safe. But it also means the assassin was injected with the
poison about an hour before he died.
Ellie picks up an office phone to call Chuck.
ELLIE
Chuck...it's your sister. Devon and I examined the gas
and have identified it...don't worry...you're safe. The two halves of the
gas have to be applied within one hour of each other to be effective...so we're
pretty sure that Shaw is hiding within an hour's distance from the Pantheon and
Piazza Navona.

Chuck, Cole and Morgan get out of their car and look at the

Thanks sis. We're at the Castel Sant'Angelo now,
which is roughly an hour's driving distance from the Pantheon, so I think we
might be on to something.

Sarah...my sister's identified the poison gas. The two
parts have to be applied within an hour of each other. So we think Shaw
is hiding nearby the Castel Sant'Angelo, because it's within an hour of the

between a statue and the wall. Squeezing through the gap, they discover a
dark, hidden passageway with steps leading downwards.

they hit a snag: the stairs end in an old sewage system that is flooded with

and mentioned in vs the Suitcase), which has been carefully placed on the
desk. She is very tired and stressed. Chuck notices, walks
over and starts to massage her shoulders...he then gives her a little peck on
the cheek.

Look...let's go to bed. You look really tired and it
would look bad if we showed up late again tomorrow morning.
SARAH
Yeah...I'm just going over some of these security
details...to prepare for tomorrow.

I know this assignment is very important to you. I want

start to head inside. Meanwhile, the Rome police have cordoned off the

Sarah is standing on one side of the lane and walking towards
Tyler Martin and Jeffster, whom have now been surrounded by a crowd of locals
and tourists, some of whom are snapping pictures.
Meanwhile, a dark van drives past them and slows down on the
bridge, blocking the view of Sarah's dad. When the van speeds up again,
we see that Sarah's dad is gone and only his wheelchair is left behind.

CASTEL SANT'ANGELO - FRIDAY 9:50 am
Morgan is running out of the Castel Sant'Angelo to run into
Big Mike, who has jumped out of his minivan to greet him. Big Mike hugs
Morgan before Morgan can say anything.

Cole and Chuck are quietly searching some nearby caves.
Chuck puts a hand on a rock, allowing a nearby rat to climb onto his arm.
Chuck starts getting nervous and fidgity, but manages to brush the rat
off. Unfortunately, Chuck has made too much noise as he doesn't hear the
footsteps of the ILLUMINATI GUARD behind him. However, Chuck does hear
the guard cock his pistol as the pistol is pushed against Chuck's head.

We see the center of a room where Chuck, Cole and Sarah's Dad
are bound together. Standing around them are several Illuminati
guards. CUE Shaw who walks in and smiles and waves at Chuck.

so I needed a new nebulous and mysterious organization to lead.

So Shaw told me about the Intersect in his head...and how it
was hurting him. I then used my knowledge of the Intersect specs the Ring
gave me to design a governor for Shaw.

flash on the prison layout. From there we escaped.
MANOOSH
We escaped to Bangalore where we made contact with some
Illuminati members who were also connected to the Ring. They recognized
us and decided to give us a chance to join.

members of the Illuminati.
CHUCK
What do you gain from destroying this conference?

With several world leaders in one spot, it will give the

Big Mike is driving Morgan, Jeff, Lester and Tyler south on
Lungofavare dei Tebaidi towards Tiber Island. Meanwhile Casey, the rest
of Sarah's team, and some Swiss Guard are travelling parallel to them along the
Tiber River in 3 Chinese ZTS04's all flying Italian flags, yet still carrying
Chinese markings.
The camera looks further down, south of Tiber Island, and we
see Ellie and Awesome speeding along the Tiber River in a speedboat.

ISLAND, UNDERGROUND - FRIDAY 11:20 am
There is a camera now facing Chuck, Sarah's Dad and
Cole. The Illuminati guards and Manoosh are stepping back while Shaw
pulls out a pistol with silencer.

I really want Sarah to share my pain. The pain that
tortured me all these years since losing Eve. So I'm going to videotape
this for Sarah to watch over and over again. I want her to know it was
Daniel Shaw who took you from her.
With that Shaw aims his pistol at Chuck's forehead, causing
Cole to struggle and speak angrily.

Shaw...if you're going to kill Chuck, I recommend you kill me
first. Cause if you kill Chuck, nothing's going to stop me from hunting
you down and killing you.

Thanks for the advice.
Shaw turns his pistol on Cole and shoots him in the chest.
Chuck and Sarah's dad gasp in horror as Cole begins coughing
up blood.
Hiding in the shadows, Sarah takes a silent breath to remain
calm and draws a machine gun. In doing so, Sarah leans on the cavern
wall, causing a few pebbles to drop.
Shaw looks around and motions to his guard.

Search the area.
Shaw turns back to Chuck and Sarah's dad.

We're running out of time. Normally I'd kill you first
Chuck, but I want to make this climatic by killing the people Sam loves in
order of whom she loves least to most, so...
Shaw shoots Sarah's dad in the chest.
Chuck starts freaking out.
Enraged, Sarah starts shooting at Shaw, and narrowly misses
him. Before she can follow through, the Illuminati shoot back and pin
Sarah down in her hiding spot, allowing Shaw and Manoosh to flee via another
cavern. Meanwhile Chuck has managed to free his ropes and is trying to
stop Cole and Sarah's dad from bleeding, but his efforts are proving futile.
Suddenly more machine gun fire is heard and some guards are
shot while others flee. An amphibious assault vehicle comes into
view. It's doors open and Casey, Carina and Mei Ling step out, armed with
automatic assault rifles.
With the Illuminati gone, Sarah is able to run over to her
dying father. Sarah's dad manages to reach out and stroke Sarah's hair
one last time...
SARAH'S DAD
I'm so happy for you, Sam. Charlie's a good man.
Take good care of him.
SARAH
I love you dad.
Sarah's dad fades away. Meanwhile Cole manages to cough
out some blood and with his dying breath...

Take care of Chuck for me Sarah.
With that Cole passes away.
Sarah and Chuck take a beat to mourn for Cole and Sarah's
dad. Sarah then picks up her machine gun while Chuck gets his tranq
pistols. Meanwhile Old Spice Guy and some Swiss Guard troops start
scouring the area for Shaw.
Sarah motions to a particular tunnel.
SARAH
Shaw and Manoosh went that way.
CASEY
Let's go make them pay for this.
Casey motions to Sarah's dad and Cole laying dead on the
cavern floor. Some soldiers begin to collect the bodies. Chuck,
Casey and Sarah run off together.

Big Mike has parked his minivan to the side and Jeff, Lester,
Morgan, Big Mike and Tyler Martin are looking at Tiber Island from the
rails.

I told you guys to just let me drive and you wouldn't listen
to me. I told you it was the next bridge!
MORGAN
Hey! We're sorry! Wait a minute...look down there!
Below the bridge, there is a subway line. And we can
see Shaw climbing out from one of the service crawlways onto the subway track.
MORGAN
That's Shaw. That's the evil spy that killed Chuck's
dad!
BIG MIKE
He's hurt one of us? Then he's hurt all of us.
Tyler Martin, Lester and Jeff nod in agreement.

Shaw is walking along the tracks when suddenly Morgan drops
on top of him, wrapping his legs around Shaw's neck in a choke hold while
covering his eyes with his hands. Big Mike, Jeff, Lester and Tyler Martin
surround Shaw.

Remember...teamwork!
Tyler and Lester each grab one of Shaw's arms. Jeff
grabs Shaw's legs allowing Big Mike to rush in and begin sucker punching Shaw
in the abdomen.
BIG MIKE
He's got abs of steel!
Shaw calms himself and flashes on kung fu escape
techniques. He then throws Lester and Tyler Martin off the bridge and
into the water. He then frees on leg from Jeff's grip and stomps on
Jeff's head, then kicks him into the river. Big Mike attempts to tackle
Shaw but Shaw is able to knock Big Mike off balance and throws Big Mike into
the Tiber River. Lastly, Shaw grabs Morgan, pulls him off and throws him
into the river with the other Buy Morons and Tyler, and looks down at them in
amazement.
Shaw
I'm impressed. You're not as pathetic as I thought.
Shaw doesn't hear the 3 people climbing out of the service
tunnel behind him.
SARAH
Freeze Daniel. You're under arrest.
Shaw cannot mask the hatred in his voice.
shaw
Sam. And I see you brought Chuck and Casey. Smart.
Shaw suddenly throws a bottle at them that breaks on the
rails. Green fumes start filling the air, and Sarah, Chuck and Casey
begin coughing and choking. They drop their weapons and fall to their
knees. Shaw ruthlessly kicks Chuck and Casey aside, who manage to stay on
the bridge. Shaw hears a subway train approaching, grabs Sarah in a
headlock and jumps onto the tracks.

Hear that Sam? That is the sound of
inevitability. Your impending doom. I'll just leave you hear for
the train to run you over. Good bye, Sam.
Sarah manages to loosen Shaw's headlock a little and turns
her chin into the joint between Shaw's forearm and tricep.
SARAH
My...name...is...Sarah!
Sarah suddenly stomps on Shaw's foot, then back hooking kicks
into Shaw's groin. As Shaw starts to fall on top of her she elbows Shaw
in the throat. Sarah then performs a headlock escape by kicking out
Shaw's leg so he falls
onto the subway tracks, and then rolls on top of the ledge to escape the
oncoming train.
The train speeds by as Sarah, still choking from the gas,
crawls slowly towards Chuck.
The train has completely passed and we see Shaw on the other
side of the tracks, pistol in hand. He aims it carefully at Chuck, but
then we hear the sound of a pistol being cocked. Shaw turns around and
CUE Mary Bartowski.
MARY
Hasta la vista, baby.
Mary pulls the trigger and Shaw falls into the river
lifeless. She then picks up her cell phone and calls Ellie.
MARY
Eleanor, hurry up. Chuck, Sarah and Casey inhaled some
poison gas and are going to die soon! I need an antidote!

Ellie is driving the speed boat at full speed towards the
bridge. Awesome is behind and apparently water skiing, when he pulls a
cord on his vest, and a parasail pops open behind him. Awesome then
parasails above the water, and releasing the rope that connected him to the
boat, glides perfectly onto the top of the bridge.
EXT. VIALE
DI TRASTEVERE, BRIDGE OVERLOOKING TIBER ISLAND - FRIDAY 11:46 am.
AWESOME
Awesome! Hey mom!
Awesome takes a box marked with a red cross and tosses it
down to his mother-in-law, who catches it, opens the lid, grabs a needle and
runs across the tracks to Chuck, Sarah, and Casey. She quickly injects
all 3 in the arm with the needle and their choking quickly subsides.
CHUCK
Thanks mom!
SARAH
Thanks mom!
Mary smiles widely and looks at Casey, who just grunts.
MARY
We still have to find Manoosh.
CASEY
It's going to be like searching for a needle in a haystack.
CHUCK
Look...Shaw and Manoosh told me they were looking to join the
Illuminati...and they were using old Illuminati bases of operations...
SARAH
So we go back to the Vatican Archives and start searching the
books for more clues.

Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Awesome, Big Mike, Jeff,
Lester, Tyler Martin, Mary and Carina are pouring over all the books
desperately looking for clues. Over this, CAPTION: VATICAN ARCHIVES,

MORGAN
Manoosh could be anywhere. Even if we find another
Illuminati stronghold there's no guarantee he will be there.
SARAH
He wants in. He's looking for a way in to that
organization.
CHUCK
Wait a minute. Shaw said the Illuminati wanted them to
assassinate the world leaders attending the Vatican's anti-poverty conference.
SARAH
They're coming here!
Sarah picks up her iPhone.
SARAH
This is Sarah. I want you to arrange for a small delay
in the start of the welcoming ceremony in St. Peter's Basilica.
CHUCK
Wait! If Manoosh wanted to release poison gas into St.
Peter's Basilica unnoticed, his best chance would be to get underground and let
the fumes come up. Which means he would probably be in the Vatican
necropolis. It's the perfect hiding spot. You have to apply really
early on at the Ufficio Scavi with a date in mind before they decide when you
can take a look. So likely nobody's there to identify him!

Swiss guard soldiers rush into the Basilica from every
entrance, led by Chuck, Sarah and Casey. They begin to rush towards the
arch and then down the stairs into the tombs of the necropolis.

vatican necropolis - friday 5:15 pm
The team is searching the crypt for any signs of a
disturbance or gas weapon. Chuck is scrambling through the crypts,
creeping out at the sight of all the gothic statues and rats. Despite his
obvious uncomfortableness with the surroundings, Chuck hears a slight beeping
sound. Over this, CAPTION: VATICAN NECROPOLIS, FRIDAY 5:15 PM.
CHUCK
Hey! Look! Over here!
Casey, Sarah and a few Swiss Guard members arrive.
Chuck reaches behind some spider webs very uncomfortably and pulls out the gas
bomb.
CHUCK
It's set to detonate within 15 minutes. Roughly in the
middle of the welcoming ceremonies. Hang on...
Chuck takes out his iPhone and attaches an USB cable between
his bomb and his phone.
CHUCK
It's a similar design to what Manoosh used for the
tourbus. He used iPhone OS 5 on that bomb so I upgraded my iPhone and
updated my virus to be compatible.
Chuck presses some buttons on his iPhone. The screen
starts flashing with the word Downloading...
5 seconds later, the iPhone screen reads: Disarmed.
CHUCK
Done.

But still no Manoosh.

Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Mary, Ellie, Awesome, Clara, Morgan, Big
Mike, Jeff, Lester, Tyler Martin and Carina are having dinner with the Pope,

Chuck and Sarah are lying in bed together, trying to
sleep. Sarah seems very stressed and unable to sleep. Chuck rolls
over and tries to comfort her. Over this, CAPTION: HOTEL CESI, FRIDAY

SARAH
I'm sorry I snapped at you at dinner. I'm just really
concerned. I'm not sure what Manoosh's next move will be.
CHUCK
Hey...don't worry about it. Everyone can see your
stressed. You need to relax.
SARAH
I'll call in and let them know we're going to be taking a
couple hours off in the afternoon.
CHUCK
I already took the liberty of doing so. Casey will
cover for you. I've got a
surprise for you.
Sarah smiles and closes her eyes.
In a few moments, we see that both Chuck and Sarah are fast
asleep.

We see the Trevi Fountain in the background. Over this,
CAPTION: TREVI FOUNTAIN, SATURDAY 9:30 AM. It is
clear of people except for Chuck, Sarah and a photographer. Around the
fountain are Italian police, who are keeping the area free of tourists so that
Chuck and Sarah may enjoy this special moment by themselves. Chuck is
dressed in a black tuxedo with white shirt while Sarah looks stunning in a
long, flowing white bridal gown. They are walking and talking, sometimes
stopping to pose, kiss or toss pennies into the fountain. The
photographer keeps quiet, runs around them, taking photos at different angles,
capturing the moment without interrupting Chuck and Sarah's romantic bubble.
Sarah turns to Chuck and after exchanging a few whispers, he
nods. Sarah raises her hand
and signals the police to start allowing the tourists back in.

Chuck is holding and supporting Sarah. Both are dressed
in black, and Sarah looks very sad. In the background we see Ellie,
Awesome, Clara in a stroller, Casey, Alex and Morgan, all dressed in
black. In front of Chuck and Sarah is an open coffin; inside we see the
deceased and exhumed form of Sarah's dad. Sarah starts to cry softly, but

It's so sad. My dad was really looking forward to our

I looked at all the locations where we encountered Manoosh
and the Illuminati...the Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona, the
Pantheon and Tiber Island. I didn't realize it till I stood back and
looked at them together...but if you imagine these places as points on a half
ring, then it all makes sense.
CASEY
A circular radius around Tiber Island...of course...explains
why Manoosh was only able to deliver attacks to those specific points.

So I completed the ring...and based on the Illuminati's
history of infiltrating churches, found only 1 remaining church on this

Sirens are heard as police cars followed by black limousines
leave the Vatican's back entrance and speed along the streets of Rome towards
Santa Maria de Trastevere.

The flotilla of cars encircle the church. Over this,
CAPTION: SANTA MARIA DE TRASTEVERE, SUNDAY 10:53 AM. Swiss guard
and police officers dressed in body armour and armed with automatic assault
rifles take up positions and surround the building. Casey and Morgan take
a team of Swiss Guard troops and move in a snake like formation to secure the
front doors. The troops close in on the Church as Casey's team enters and
starts securing the church.
Chuck and Sarah enter with the rest of the troops.
Chuck takes a beat to admire the mosaics on the wall...

Wow. Sarah...that one over there dates back to 1 AD.
Chuck points to the mosaic with the birds and fishes.
SARAH
Then I guess it's too old to contain an Illuminati secret
entrance.
Casey motions to Chuck and Sarah.
CASEY
You better come take a look at this.
Casey directs 2 Swiss Guard soldiers in moving an altar from
its original position, revealing a trap door. While 2 troops stand above
the door with weapons ready, another 2 carefully open the trap doors.
Slowly everyone begins to climb down.

The troops slowly make their way into a cave with several
tunnels. Sarah splits the group up into several squads, each charged with
exploring and securing a tunnel. Sarah, Chuck, Casey and Morgan take a
single tunnel which leads them to a large cavern containing a chemical weapons
lab. In the center is Manoosh with 2 Illuminati guards.
Sarah, Casey, Morgan and Chuck walk in confidently.
Sarah and Casey point their weapons at Manoosh and the 2 guards.
SARAH
It's over Manoosh. We're arresting you and turning you
over to the Rome Police.
MANOOSH
Did you sweep the whole area first to make sure you weren't
outnumbered?
Suddenly 10 guards appear out of the shadows and surround
Chuck, Sarah, Casey and Morgan. However, they do not have any guns.
Sarah and Casey refuse to drop theirs.
CHUCK
Actually, guys, I don't think we can use guns in here.
A stray bullet could hit one of those chemical vats and we could all die.
Sarah and Casey lower their weapons.
MANOOSH
Surrendur now and you won't get hurt.
Sarah and Casey holster their weapons and start cracking
their knuckles, eager to take on 12 Illuminati guards.
CHUCK
Uhh...honey...that won't be necessary. Ready Morgan?
MORGAN
Ready Chuck.
Chuck and Morgan each draw 2 tranq guns and in a comical
display of double-fisted tranq gun play, (a nerdy version of the gunkata as
shown in the film Equilibrium) tranq all the Illuminati guards in the
chemical lab! Casey and Sarah stare like deers on headlights at the utter
silliness of Chuck and Morgan's tranq gun technique.
Morgan blows out the smoke seeping from the barrel of one of
his tranq pistols.
Sarah and Casey look at each other in utter shock and delight.
CHUCK
Manoosh, you're under arrest.
MANOOSH
I'm not giving up that easily Chuck. It's time to see
who has the better Intersect.
Manoosh puts on his Intersect glasses and flashes. He
then assumes a standard set up position but seems to squint a bit. Is his
Intersect faulty?
Sarah casually walks over and quickly side kicks Manoosh in
the face, knocking him unconscious.
CHUCK
Honey! I was ready to take him!
Sarah just smiles at Chuck.
SARAH
Shut up and kiss me.

vatican city, st. peter's basilica - sunday 2:15 pm
The Pope is preparing to give Sunday mass. Over this,
CAPTION: ST. PETER'S BASILICA, SUNDAY 2:15 PM. Chuck,
Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Awesome (holding Clara) and Mary are standing in
the preparation area with him. The Pope turns to Sarah.
POPE
Thank you for saving this conference, Agent Walker.
Your professionalism and ability to handle all the security arrangements plus
catch the terrorists is astounding.
SARAH
Thank you, your holiness.
POPE
We are all greatly indebted to you. Would you please
stay in the Papal Apartments for the rest of the conference? We really
wish to provide you with first class treatment.
SARAH
Thank you...I really want to take advantage of it, but I'm
not Catholic and I want to stay with my fiance.
POPE
I know. I have made arrangements for that. Please
go to the office down the steps...the staff will brief you on the
details. I will meet you after mass. Don't worry...it'll be short.
ext. st.
peter's square, vatican city - sunday 4:15 pm
We see several rows of chairs facing the Pope, who is
standing center and in front of an aisle. Over this, CAPTION: ST. PETER'S
SQUARE, SUNDAY 4:15 PM. The area is decorated for a
wedding, and we can see Big Mike, Roan, Tyler Martin, Jeff, Lester, Morgan,
Casey, Alex, Ellie, Awesome (holding Clara), Mary, Carina, and others all
seated. In front of the Pope, holding hands and facing one another, are
Chuck and Sarah.
Chuck is dressed in a black tuxedo and Sarah in the bridal gown given to her by
Mary, with a white veil. Carina is visibly crying.
POPE
Chuck, please repeat after me, and then place Sarah's ring on
her finger. With this Ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and
with all my worldly goods I thee endow: In the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
CHUCK
With this Ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and

With that Chuck slips the ring that Sarah purchased onto her
finger, and whispers to the Pope.
CHUCK
Is this appropriate, since I'm not Catholic.
The Pope just gives Chuck a look and Chuck clams up
immediately.
POPE
Sarah, please repeat after me, and then...
SARAH
I know.
The Pope just smiles and nods.
SARAH
With this Ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and
with all my worldly goods I thee endow: In the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Sarah puts the ring on Chuck's finger and smiles.
Carina, Alex and Mary start to cry.
The Pope takes Chuck and Sarah to a nearby table set up with
documents and a feathered pen, and Sarah sits down to sign her marriage license
and another legal document beneath. Chuck leans over and notices that the
document Sarah is signing is a name change form. Sarah has legally
changed her name from Sam to Sarah Bartowski.
Excited, Chuck whispers into Sarah's ear:
CHUCK
You changed your name, Sam?
SARAH
I wanted to. My real name..the real me...isn't
Sam. My real name is Bartowski. Sarah...Bartowski.
Chuck cannot help but smile.
Sarah gets up and the Pope sits down to sign the witness
areas. Next is Chuck's turn, who sits down and signs the marriage
license. He smiles proudly as he reads his name as married to Sarah
Bartowski. He jumps up and almost knocks the chair over. The Pope
smiles calmly, sits down and signs the documents, then leads Chuck and Sarah to
the front of the audience.
POPE
I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the
bride.
Chuck lifts the veil covering Sarah's face.
CHUCK
You've never looked so beautiful.
SARAH
Just shut up and kiss me already!
Chuck leans in and Sarah and Chuck kiss passionately to the
applause of the audience.
POPE
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Bartowski!
Morgan starts to cry.

peter's basilica, michelangelo's pieta - sunday 4:45 pm
Chuck and Sarah are posing for wedding photos inside St.

of them in front of the Pieta statue when Casey walks over.
CASEY

CHUCK
Yeah...the Pieta is one of Michelangelo's
masterpieces...built in 1498 I think. Probably 513 years old...
CASEY
Did you just flash?
CHUCK
No! I can do math in my head.
Casey grunts.
CASEY
Keep in touch, you two.
SARAH
Just because we're married doesn't mean you won't be a part
of our team anymore John!

VATICAN GARDENS - Sunday 5:30 pm
Sarah, Mary and Ellie are posing for photos together in the
Vatican Gardens, in front of the Palace of the Governorate of Vatican City
State.
MARY
You're so lucky! So many beautiful spots here for
picture taking!
ELLIE
I'm so glad you decided to officially become a Bartowski!
SARAH
Thanks. Being with Chuck has been the happiest time of
my life.

vatican city, sistine chapel - sunday 6:15 pm
Chuck and Sarah are posing and taking wedding photos with a
photographer inside the beautiful Sistine Chapel. Over this, CAPTION:
SISTINE CHAPEL, SUNDAY 6:15 PM. At times they pose,
other times the photographer just catches them naturally. They are being
watched by the wedding audience. Now it is Ellie's turn to hold Clara.
ELLIE
See Clara...there's Uncle Chuck and Auntie Sarah.
AWESOME
This is like...totally awesome.
CASEY
Plus the Pope wrote a glowing recommendation for Sarah to the
President. She's on her way up in the CIA.
MORGAN
Looks like everyone is moving onwards and forwards.
CASEY
Relax. We still got the banquet. They spend up
till Wednesday here in the Vatican. And they still got their honeymoon.

papal apartments, chuck and sarah's bridal suite - sunday 11:30 pm
The door
opens and Sarah's arm reaches in to turn on the lights. We can then see
clearly that Chuck is carrying Sarah into their bridal suite, a large room in
the Papal Apartments most likely reserved for state officials and visiting
dignitaries.

It would
be greater if we were naked already!
Chuck smiles at Sarah.
Sarah looks to the bed, and sees that her request to have her
favourite picture of herself and Chuck beside the bed was properly fulfilled by
the Vatican's housekeeping staff. She smiles quietly to herself as Chuck
lays her down on the bed and they begin to kiss passionately.

vatican city, sarah's office - wednesday 10:00 am
Sarah is
thanking her team and they are saying their goodbyes. Everyone is all
smiles and Morgan is taking pictures.
Carina walks over and gives Sarah a hug.
CARINA
You did a fantastic job. I hear you're the talk of the
CIA now.
SARAH
Thanks. I couldn't have done it without you.
Carina turns to Chuck.
CARINA
I can't believe a nerd like you stole Sarah away from me.
CHUCK
Coming from you I'll take that as a compliment?
CARINA
No. It's not.
Carina walks away. Sarah and Chuck face each other and
smile.

international terminal, leonardo da vinci airport - wednesday 2:00 pm
We see Ellie, Awesome, Clara (in a stroller), Morgan, Casey,
Alex and Mary waving bye to Chuck and Sarah, who are waving bye back and about
to pass through airport security to enter the gate area.

venice - wednesday 5:00 pm
We see Chuck and Sarah (kissing) riding in a gondola with a
single oarsmen taking them through the tiny rivers of Venice. Ahead
of them we see the famous Piazza San Marco.
FADE TO BLACK.
